Rats 0, Politics 1, Guns 2

I have been on the road this week and just catching up on developments. I must say a bit of unrest seems apparent and I think some discussion is in order.

I saw reference to the new “policy” and even went so far as to read it. I also dropped up to the top of the board----oh my I don’t like it up there---anyway I have a question.

Ed has already asked this, 3 days ago to be exact and no answer has been forth coming. Since it concerns this area of the forum I believe it appropriate to ask here (in the Other Forum).

What is the definition of “political topic”?

There are many topics right now on the first page that are political in nature. If this is to be taken literally the bilge is now closed to most of our most meaningful and stimulating discussions. Frankly I think the Rat ban is possibly even more childish than us rats ever where, but so be it, this isn’t my ship----but politics---you might just as well weld the hatches shut---but let me out first

I just did a fast count, there are 10 topics on this page that are political in nature.

Kevin and Mike, could you shed a bit of light down here, I am

Kevin is on vacation and Mike is busier than a one-armed paperhanger, so I'll move this to the News... forum where discussion of website policy will be on topic.

Jason was gone all weekend, so he hasn't been answering any questions. He's back now, so he'll probably see this in the "his" forum. but he'd probably not see it in the Other forum.

Re: Rats 0, Politics 1, Guns 2

FIRST: The Captain and Officers of the ship surely must realize the need for the crew to blow off some steam in The Bilge now and then. If we go over the line, kick some tail and move on. We expect no less. But, BUT, hopefully, every minor infraction will not result in sanctions. We are not at war and the ship is NOT taking on water. Personally, I thought we've been doing pretty darn well.

SECOND: Take a look around the site at some of the core members - many of them lurk in The Bilge. They are a devoted, concerned, loyal bunch who return again and again. Many attend rallys and also spread the word about where folks can go to REALLY learn about their Ford diesels. My point is, they add much to this site. It is good business to keep them interested and engaged.

Having said all that - Jason has every right to do what he needs to do. All I'm suggesting is that we recognize the culture that has developed here. It's a great place to be, and I know I'm not the only one who wants to keep cruising.

Thanks for listening - best to y'all

Well said UTAH and I agree. I allso agree with Dave on the welding the hatch. May Jason wants to close the "OTHER" section. Heck I dont know. Heck maybe we could all chip in and get a server and start a BILGE RAT site .

JJ Ido not know why but it looks like we are walking an egg shells because of advertisers. People don't carry differences to private email as they should IMHO.
nuf said on this or this post will get deleted. Heck maybe me to???

Take care all,

THIS would not be hard to do since I have had a UBB forum on my personal website for quite some time. I suppose I could add another forum but I would rather come here. One easy place for Bilge and good stuff.

UTAH, ED, Dave-- If you guys would ever actually come up for air you'd know that the "Other" forums (as I like to call them) have been the real hotbed of angst of late

Oh, and the last attempt at an "Other, Other" forum turned out to be dismally unsuccessful....

LB, I do go all the way up to "General Diesel" from time to time. My truck is the best truck I have ever had, I love it, would get another in a heart beat----why would I want to put myself through all that whinning
up there? My kids are all grown and gone---I don't need that---besides as I have said before this is an escape for me.
