A s/w BUG continues in the new release...

Jason, there is a continuing BUG in the site s/w that you might want to report to your supplier:

After posting a new topic, if the poster hits the BACK button thinking this will take him to his forum's main page, he will have inadvertantly created a second and duplicate post! The old s/w release did this, and I see the new release does too, based on the duplicate posts I see with identical text. You will notice that the duplicate has a few minutes difference on the time stamp....the time that elapsed until he hit the back button. Something to look into when you have a moment. Re: A s/w BUG continues in the new release...

Morning Aubry,

If you want to go back to the same board, after you proof read your reply, new post, or editing a post, if you click on the go button by the "hop to" box it will take you back.

If you want to go to another board, you can click on the arrow on the "hop to" box and scrool to what which one you want or go to the top of th page and click on FORUMS. Then go where you want.

Hope this helps and take care .

On Edit: A new post or editing of it automatically takes takes you back the the board it is on.

Re: A s/w BUG continues in the new release...

Thanks. Yes I found that out a year ago, and it is a correct way to avoid duplicate posts. My point was to let Jason know about this BUG in case he was not aware of it so that he could notify his supplier. It is natural for a user to use the Back button after making his/her post and the s/w should not create a duplicate from using it. Just trying to be helpful. I see that duplicates are still created fairly often.
Cheers!

Hi Aubry
When that happens to me I just delete one of them. Sorry I did not notice you were posting a FYI .

I am usually so I don't have to get that way .

Take care

Re: A s/w BUG continues in the new release...

Yup, I remove any duplicates that I make too. Problem is that the very same new user who uses the Back button and creates the duplicate, usually doesn't know (yet) how to delete that duplicate. And of course only that person or the admin can do it. No biggie and I am sure Jason has bigger fish to fry these last couple of weeks. Just wanted to bring it to his attention while the iron is hot. I expect he is dealing with his s/w supplier daily.

Cheers!!
