Re: Search error!!!!!

Deerlope

Try searching using the member number.

Try is this.....

If you can see the member name and number in the author column or anywhere on the page being displayed.....position your mouse at the start of the member number, left click, drag to the right to highlight the member number, right click, select copy from the popup menu.......

Now go click on the search target...

When the search screen comes up, right click in the member number box, select paste from the popup menu.

Click the search button.

This is kinda a short cut for copying and pasting the member number........into the member number search field

Hope this helps a little..

Rex

Re: Search error!!!!!

Ok. Then what is the search feature at the top of this page for?We used to be able to click on it to bring up the search page and then just fill in the blanks. Then click on search.I know that this new set up is a bit of a learning curve, but does it really have to be more diffcult to be faster?

I don't understand what search problem you are having. I just tried it and it worked fine.

Re: Search error!!!!!

The field at the top of the search page "Search Word" is for word(s) that will found in the body of the messages posted or the "Subject" of the messages. It is not for member names. You can only search for a particular member name by using the member number.

Hope this helps a little.

Good luck,

Rex

Re: Search error!!!!!

Concerning the Search, there use to be a function that searched every forum in here. that option I have not been able to find. Do you know if it exists or how I can do that? Many times I do not know what discussion group it is in, so a "All" Search worked best. Any ideas?

Re: Search error!!!!!

I believe that Jason change the searchs so that only one forum at a time can be searched, that was so it would cut down the load on the server. I know that I read a post by him that he did that.
