Where can I find out how to post a picture on my signature? I have tried copying the link from webshots, I have the picture in the proper format but the when I try to add it to my signature it says something like the link not being in the proper format. Please help
Select the one you posted for the avatar and get it to display. Then right click on the image itself and select "Properties" from the drop down menu. Highlight the URL address as shown in the properties window. Do a ctrl + C to copy that URL to your clipboard.
Next, go to "My Home" (above on the second bar beside "Search"). Scroll down to "personal info" and select "edit". Scroll down to the text box titled "URL to your picture". Place your cursor in that box and then do a ctrl + V to copy the clipboard into that box.
Finally select "submit" at the bottom of that page. Your avatar pic will then show up under all your posts and any new ones going forward.
If you post it elsewhere, you have to have the full path (URL) to the picture and paste that into the same line as mentioned above.
Avatars can be 65x75 pixels in size. JPG is the most common format used among the types permitted.
There have been many posts on this question. Make sure that your webshots album is viewable by others than just yourself.
On edit: I copied the URL from one of your Webshot pictures and put it in your profile. It shows up OK except being a bit out of porportion because of it's original size. All I did was select a picture there and then right clicked and selected properties and highlighted the URL and then pasted it into your profile.

Above is the URL to the photo in bjhous' avatar. It ends in .jpg, which is good. But the URL is not viewable by webshots outsiders. When I click on it, I get:

You don't have permission to access /s/image6/0/19/3/81501903grJfPg_ph.jpg on this server.

So bjhous, you can either figure out how to get to a webshots URL that's viewable by outsiders, or else you need to post your photo right here on TheDieselStop.

I didn't have any problem viewing his Webshots album using the link in his signature. That's where I went to get the URL to put in his profile which now shows an avatar which resides in his Webshots album. Smokey, I don't know why you are getting that message. The link in your post works. Maybe he changed something????
