Today my Trend Micro PC keeps popping up telling me that I have opened a dangerous Wed site. According to write up there is spyware on this site. This has never happened before. Anything we should know about this?
Dann
I run "system suite 8 pro" that uses trend micro A/V and anti spy. I keep it updated every week. I am not getting any warnings at all when on this site. Also have "noadware 5.0" and nothing from it also.

I think my question is why I'm all of a sudden I'm getting these warnings. Never had them before. Is it one of the sponsers on this site or what?
Maybe I'm just overly concerned
Dann
Does it give you the option of viewing "details" If it does then you might be able to get an I.P. address for the "threat" and at that point you can "backtrace" the I.P.

Our IT guy (at work, not TDS) just said today that some of his clients have been getting viruses from otherwise "normal" websites because they have been infected. He said that the virus is too new to be recognized by the antivirus programs, and that it disables them and keeps popping up messages about virus infections inviting you to "click here" to disinfect your system. He said that Spybot would catch it however.
Don't know if that's the issue you're having, just passing on what he told me.
I doubt TDS is dangerous, virus wise, but I could be wrong. I know it IS dangerous in causing people to spend money on their trucks.

I have searched the web for "clean" information (ie pellet stove parts) and when you click on the link you will get a mesage that your system may be infected. If you click anywhere on the page you will have ISSUES. My brother in law who passed this year gave this advise. DO NOT click anywhere on the page. press CNTRL/ALT/DEL at the same time. when a window appears, start "TASK MANAGER" and then highlight the web page in the task manager window. at the bottom of the window click on "END TASK" you should be okay after that. I have had that happen a few times and was woken up by the wife LATE at night when she was looking at ceramic figurines. Hope this helps. I am not a computer expert but when "BOB'" talked I listened.

I have a mac and don't have the problems that you speak of and with no anti-virus software installed at all. We did have anti-virus software installed until two years ago. We lost the hard drive on the laptop on a really hot day(cooked it). We had it replaced and just didn't reinstall the software because we never had to use it. Our laptop is four years old and still kicking with the kids using it constantly. After hearing all the pc horror stories and the results that we have had with this current computer I would not buy anything else.
Macmainiac, Stay informed with your Mac. One of the reasons Mac users aren't affected with a lot of virus and other problems is there aren't as many of you out there. As a virus writer do you want to affect 90% of the users or 10% of the users.
As Mac's becomes more popular the bad guys will get around to you...
