Slippery oil filters.

Read about slippery oil filters and thought I would throw something to everyone.After I have drained the pan and punched a small hole in the filter to drain it I use a sheet of lite grit sandpaper, wrap it around the filter and easy off!Just an idea.

Re: Slippery oil filters.

I just save 2 liter soda bottle, then cut the top off it, it slips right over, catches all the oil and you can squeeze it enough to get the filter off.. sand paper does help though..
good call..

Re: Slippery oil filters.

Wow, what a great first post and BTW, Welcome to F-D.com.
I think Smokey will be by soon and move this to the appropriate forum. Which one I don't know, that is why Smokey is a moderator and I'm not, he'll know where to put this topic

This section is for news and raggin on the Moderators only!

Re: Slippery oil filters.

Yeah, I Know, but I saw it here, and thanks for the welcome..
the Soda bottle Idea I got working on my jeep, but you need a darn big bottle to work over the powerstroke filter..
take care, and remember;
If you go really fast there is less chance of an accident because you won't be on the road as long!L!
