Re: Slow Forum Response

I don't see anything that has changed on this end, sorry. I know Sprint has been having some occasional problems lately, but it shouldn't be all the time. I access the site from another provider at work and haven't noticed anything.

Slow Forum Response

Is it just me, or is the response time from this forum drastically changed over the last 2 weeks? Lately, when I call a thread, sometimes it can take up to a minute to get the new screen. Its not all the time, but alot of the time.
.
And the problem is not with my computer or with our network, because other sites I visit are giving their normal responsive updates.

Re: Slow Forum Response

Guys,
I think it's our ISPs. I have been having connection speed problems with all sites including my e-mail. I beleive we are experiencing web fever. The ISPs can't keep up. My Dellnet service has been giving me slow connections and no connections lately.
Someone mentioned their connection speed of 45k, well, that is not related to F-D unless jason is your internet provider. Hey, Jason, ever think about that?

If I could get 40K+ I would think I was in Heaven. 24K on a bad day and 26.4K on a good day. Part of the joy of having 7 miles of copper between me and the telephone company main terminal.

Yesterday, when you posted this, your site was responding normally. Today, the response is a rather slow, especially the main thread listing pages.
.
I tried to run 'Traceroute', but our corporate internet will timeout after a certain amount of time. The 'Traceroute' was up to 1.5 minutes, and my corporate connection times out before it gets the page back. Hopefully someone with regular internet service (that doesn't have a timeout) will run the 'Traceroute'.
.
I ran Ping, and got responses between 100 - 120ms.

Re: Slow Forum Response

All we have around here is copper lines and I connect at 37300-40000 consistantly. I haven't noticed things being slow.

Re: Slow Forum Response

Good...I'm not nuts! I can make a sandwich before I can get the "post a response" screen to open? Classifieds do run quick though. Even at work where the weather channel seems opens with lightning speed.

I am pretty sure that I am going to drop my second phone line and go to a cable modem JUST TO ENJOY THIS SITE FASTER

Re: Slow Forum Response

I've noticed it for about a week now. It was reeeally slow yesterday morning (Sat.), I tried it on two different ISPs with the same results. It was so slow, the pages wouldn't load fully before they timed out. I pushed the reload button 'till I just got frustrated and quit.

Today, it seems fine.

[added in edit]

Like Beagle1 says, the ads load ok, it is the rest of the page that is slooooow. Hope this helps.

Mike

Yep, that's beyond my control, sorry. I know that Sprint has been doing some upgrades lately. They may be routing traffic across slower circuits until the upgrades are complete.

Re: Slow Forum Response

Nope, not slow at all here I have two cable modem connections and it works just fine, just like watching TV. Its about 100 times faster that 56K, so if cable connection is offered in your area get it, you won't be sorry.
