Smokey Wren

If memory serves our beloved Smokey Wren has a birthday coming up. We shouldn't let it slip by, he sure as heck won't mention it.

I don't know how old he is, but I heard he was the subject of some prehistoric cave art. Racey stuff, too, if you know what I mean.

Re: Smokey Wren

I posted this early. His "b" day is early Nov if I recall. He told me the date last year, dang me, I lost it. Just know that it's coming up. Think he'll be 63.

Re: Smokey Wren

63 geez, had I known that I wouldn't have said happy birthday. I mean, the pressure might be to much for him.

I'm kidding Smokey. I'm not far behind you in age. If anybody thinks getting old is easy its not. I know a lot of young people that can't do it.

Re: Smokey Wren

My younger sister lived in a commune back in the late 60s and we just found her stash of candles that they made there. I could ship them to where ever they are needed and that would help cut expenses. I'm sure that many candles would be more $$$$ than any one of us would want to fork over. They saved us a bundle for my 60th.

What a surprise early birthday party! Thanks for all the thoughtful folks.

Think he'll be 63.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'll be 65 on November 7.

I've been receiving lots of mail from Medicare and Social Security.

But turning 65 doesn't make me feel old. What makes me feel old is my son turned 40 on Thursday, October 2.

My kid! 40!

And what makes him realize he's over the hill is his son graduates from high school next spring. So my grandson will be going to college next year. You gotta be older than dirt to have a grandson in college, right?

Life goes on.

Hey JimmyDee, did you have to refinance the house to pay the freight on the candles?

Nope. Just sold a few thousand of them at a yard sale and that covered the freight.
