Good question, as I don't know of many bakeries that'll do a 4' x 8' sheet cake.

I posted this early. His "b" day is early Nov if I recall.

[/ QUOTE ]

What a surprise early birthday party! Thanks for all the thoughtful folks.

[ QUOTE ]
Think he'll be 63.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'll be 65 on November 7.

I've been receiving lots of mail from Medicare and Social Security.

But turning 65 doesn't make me feel old. What makes me feel old is my son turned 40 on Thursday, October 2.

My kid! 40!

And what makes him realize he's over the hill is his son graduates from high school next spring. So my grandson will be going to college next year. You gotta be older than dirt to have a grandson in college, right?

Life goes on.

[/ QUOTE ]

Along those same lines... my calculus teacher at school was telling us that one day a student walked up and said.. "Do you know.. Joe Smackity?" My teacher said... "yeah.. i think i remember him." The kid replied, "oh... well he's my grandpa."

I'm not sure how old my teacher is.. but that's gotta make you feel old when that happends.

Anyways, Happy Birthday Smokey.

Re: Smokey Wren

I can contribute 2 big CO2 extinguishers for the candles.

Also, I can probably borrow a Dodge van with a wheelchair lift in case the excitement is too much for the senior citizens here.

happy birthday, Smokey.

Re: Smokey Wren

All of this is fine and dandy but do you want to honor the man? Do you really want to show your appreciation for all the time and effort he has put into assisting us of the last four years? A couple of good words and a pat on the back is not going to get it done! When you're 65 you're in you're self-actualization years -- words, while nice are not what makes you tic.

Birthday!! 65th Birthday!! What do you get someone for their birthday. Those of you who have been lurking on this site for a while know that SMOKEY once stated that if he had the money he would have SPA Technology guages.

Why don't you but a $10.00 or $20.00 bill in an envelope and send it to SMOKEY ico White Motor Company. That could make November 7, 2003 really mean something and every time he looks at the boost guage and utters a small "thanks fellows" - you'll know what appreciation is all about.

It's an idea whose time has come.

Re: Smokey Wren

Well, one guy did send me a card % White Motor Company. And fussed at me for not proclaiming what I wanted for my birthday.

What I really want is for this website to stay alive and happy. So I can continue with the great pleasure of participating on this website. And that takes money - not for me but for the owner/founder/WebMaster of TheDieselStop. So if you want to do something nice for me, spend some money for "bumper" stickers from TheDieselStop. Give them to your brother and your uncle and your granpa. Put one on your truck. The profit will go to pay the bills of TheDieselStop. Click here for the order blank.

As far as I can tell, the only item in TheDieselStop store right now is the stickers. Caps and shirts and other items are on the way, but Jason and Cristie haven't opened the store yet. Maybe they'll get it open in time for Christmas.

And for Christmas, I'd like for you to buy yourself a cap and a t-shirt, and maybe a golf shirt if they get those in too.
