After several months I'm still looking for help in getting to my user profile pages. To summarize, I attempt to go to "my home" where I am asked to provide my username and password. When the login button is pressed, I am returned to the forum listings page. Any other time I log in I am also taken to the forum listing page instead of staying on the page I'm currently on at the time.
Some had suggested deleting cookies, etc. but that has not helped.
I want to make some changes to my profile...
Frog You can't go home even if you click on Home at the top of this page??? What version of software are you using?Have you deleted Files as well as cookies in (internet options) ?

Not tryin' to be a smart a$$ but, if you can post your already logged in. All you should have to do is click on "My Home" above, no log-in should be required.
Fred: Going to "home" isn't the problem. Getting to "My Home" is. That's the area where a member can adjust profile, change usernames, add pics etc. I deleted cookies and files, neither of which has done anything.
Rex-a-ford: Your not being a smart arse. I am not having trouble logging on. I am just not able to access "My home". When I am logged in (like right now as I respond to these threads), I click on "my home" and the log in page comes up requesting that I log in. If I go ahead and log in again, it just punts me back to the forum listings.
I don't know the answer. If you can post, then you're logged in. If you can't get into My Home, then you need to hang up and get off the internet, delete cookies and internet temp files, and turn off the computer. (Or reboot).
Then fire up the computer again, and get back on the internet. When you try to get back on TheDieselStop, you should have to log on again. Then go to My Home and it should work.
If not, then I don't have a clue.

All that is controlled by your web browser, there isn't anything we can fix from this end. Are you running any type of firewall product or software that blocks cookies?
This trouble all started when I changed my preferences in "My Home" several months ago. Something to do with selecting what my preference was when I logged on. I selected "forum page" (or words to that effect). Right away, it created problems. Can my profile be reset or do I need to create a new user id? I know it's not my computer or browser.
The forum software has the ability for an admin to login as any user. I did just did this as you and was able to get to My Home without any problems. I changed the setting back to go to MyHome upon login, but I don't know if that will fix your problem. If not, do this:
<ul type="square">[*]Logout (make sure you know your login and password)[*]Delete your cookies[*]Exit your browser[*]Start your browser back up[*]Log back in[*]Go to MyHome
Jason
Thanx Jason!! Your reset of my preferences did the trick. I am now able to access my profile and adjust it. My profile pic is now working on the left margin too. Apparently, Webshots will let YOU see the picture but not the rest of us. Or maybe the picture is stored on your PC somewhere and that is how you can see it. All we see is a box with a red X.
That's the photo he wants - but the URL doesn't end in .jpg so it won't work on TheDieselStop. So what to do? Right-click on the photo when you look at it in WebShots, then click on properties, then highlight the URL in that properties window, then right-click on the highlighted URL, then copy it to Windows scratchpad memory.
And the rest - as they say - is history.
