Re: stupid question

UBB = Ultimate Bulletin Board = the software that runs the website. Way back before the internet became popular with ordinary mortals, we had something called bulletin board systems (BBS) where we discussed things with each other. So even though TheDieselStop is not an old fashioned bulletin board, it still uses BBS software.

UBB Code is the computer language that UBB uses to allow customers to add special things such as bold and italics and quotes and such to your posts. UBB Code is a subset of HTML. HTML is a common computer language that is often used on the internet. But it allows users to do some mischief, so TheDieselStop WebMaster has turned off HTML and turned on UBBCode.

To learn more about UBB code, scroll up to the top of your post and notice a menu bar that includes "FAQ" in all caps. That is the UBB FAQ, and the section on "Can I use HTML in my posts?" explains a little bit about how to use UBB Code.

Re: stupid question

Thanks Smokey, along long time ago I had a friend who put up a BB. Ran the whole thing from his bedroom, like you said this was way before the internet thing exploded to what it is today. Dan
