Stupid question

How the heck do you use the little smiley faces, frowns...
I amy not be able to because I use web TV. Computer burned up with the house last summer and being a tight *ss I chose the $150 track back to the internet. So is it possile I am just SOL?
I hate to bother you all with an ignorant question like this but there are times I make a smart*ss remark and want to be sure it is taken just that way, not seriously. I have learned way to much and have a lot more to learn about my diesels to piss anyone off who may be of help to me in the future.

Thanks, Marlboro

Re: Stupid question

You mean like these

Or the new Icons?

If you mean the first ones, use a : + ) and that will = . The computer will translate it to a picture.

: + ) =
: + ( =
; + ) =
: + o =
; + D =

If you mean the seconds ones (icons), well, I can't help ya there. I just pick and chose the ones I want to display. FYI, they are only used on the topic listings and in the header of each post. You cannot use the icons on the main body of the message.

Re: Stupid question

Thanks Shawn,

Well here goes +)

We will see if it works

Marlboro

Well that didn't work worth a sh*t.
Ok folks here is the deal, I am a smart*ss, I am good at it. Don't take anything I say too seriously, I think if I get ticked off you should be able to distingush it from the usual me. If you are unsure just ask I am fairly blunt when irritated.

Shawn, thanks for the attempt but apparently web tv isn't sophiscated enough for this simple procedure. If anyone out there has web tv and can make these things work let me know.

Marlboro

Re: Stupid question

Oops. I should have mentioned that you need to remove the "+" sign. If I try to put ":" and ")" together (As in right next to each other...), they form a smiley face.

Sorry about that.

Re: Stupid question

Superpong, Amen and I go to the head of that list! Thought that there was some special software needed to create these icons and never bothered to ask. And at my age, I should know better.

Re: Stupid question

As you can see, it did work. The translation doesn't occur until the message is actually posted.
