Winter is coming and in the 7.3 Engine and Power Train Forum there are the usual cold weather questions starting to arrive. Many of these can be answered by the stickies which have been moved into a sub forum. On first blush, the sub forums seemed like a good idea. However, it has become apparent these sub forums and the information contained within is not readily found.

I tend to agree with you. Maybe, and I don't know if it is possible or not, would to be to make the Sub Forum link a different color, and bold it and also maybe change the link text to say: 7.3L Power Stroke Engine and Drivetrain Sticky's.

I think you're both right. The idea was to keep the top of the forums from filling up with stickies, but they have essentially "disappeared" into the FAQ subforums.
If we can't get the color changed or some other method to highlight them, maybe one sticky in the main forum with a link to the FAQ subforum index. The question then is what to put in that sticky.
The Forums and sub-forums are treated the same in the style sheets, so there isn't a convenient way to make them stand out.
This got me thinking, so I tried something over there. In the Control Panel, the administrator can add forum specific images to represent the forum. On a couple of my subforums, I added the "padlock" image. It is the same as the padlock used for locked threads, but much larger.
The image doesn't show up in the regular forum list, but when you enter a forum that contains a subforum, the big padlock stands out nicely at the top of the page. It is much more noticeable. Jason may want to try something along those lines. There are several stock images to choose from. There may be a way to add custom images, too.

Kevin, Great idea!
One locked Sticky containing links to the posts in the sub forum. Now what to call that sticky? 7.3 FAQ Stickies ???

This is nothing that can be handled by the moderators. Only the site owner can make any changes. The ball is in his court.

Like Dick said, other than me putting up a sticky pointer in the main forum, the site owner has to do the heavy lifting on this.
