Subscription question

When subscribing to a thread, I find that I recieve the email the day after the post is in the subscribed thread......is there something I am not setting correctly?

There is an option to get daily notifications, and then there is an option to receive instant notification. If should ask you that when you are subscribing to the thread. There is also an option to set all of your subscriptions as instant in the "My Account" menu. Go to Edit Profile and there is an dropdown box in there.
