suggestion for slow typers

I am typing this post with the MS office new speech recognition program that is part of the new MS office 2003 program. For the slow typer, this is absolutely the most wonderful thing I've ever used. Takes a little bit getting used to, but works great. Just had to set the speech recognition portion of this program to global so that it will work with any thing that accepts typing text. Highly recommend this program. (on edit: maybe not)

Wow on edit: it sure makes a bunch of mistakes. Its going to take a while to work the buggs out of it. I reread it tried to correct the mistakes it made.
On edit #2: Found the problem. Haven't given the program enough training time. You need to speak into the microphone and let the program learn your voice and the way you pronounce the words. There is about an hour of training time necessary to make it work perfectly.

Even though I am proud of my class,
I would still like to ask,
How much was the microphone,
How well does it work in XP?

Re: suggestion for slow typers

Mic came with an old sound card so I'm not sure of the cost. If I continue to use this I will get the kind that is a hands free type so I can correct mistakes as I go. Right now I can type as fast as doing the program and correcting the mistakes but I have about 8 more program training sessions to go and have only done 2 at this point. The second session improved the recognitions a lot, so I figure the other 8 to go will help even more.
It works, so far very good with Win XP SP2. I used it the other night for an electrical chat room and it is great in that setting.

Re: suggestion for slow typers

I have MS office 2003, I dont see it in there!

I've noticed something like that in Mozilla's extensions.

Re: suggestion for slow typers

Go to MS Word, click on tools, then click on Speech and a dialog bar should pop up.
