Just a few...
1. How bout an IRC type chat server. (irc.ford-diesel.com?)
From what I have seen and heard, it is a much better solution that the normal java/cgi/servlet solutions out there right now. All it needs is a freeware client that people can download.
2. Moderators only forum. In addition to the usual channels, this might help out internal discussions for people who don't readily have access to their email.
3. I have looked at ubb.com and other sites running this software and they have some pretty neat "hacks" that I think f-d.com would benefit from. For example,
www.hometheaterforum.com has in the "Author" section, The members name, status, location, # of posts, and member since info listed. All but the # of posts could be of great use here (Eliminates a poll topic though

)
4. As I said before, you really need to distinguish yourself from us "common" moderators and change the "Administrator" title to "Owner", "Webmaster" or "God of all that is called Powerstroke" or something along those lines.
Just my couple of cents.
