My aren't we full of ourselves......... When TDS first started, there weren't any PSD sites out there. It was the first of it's kind. Now there are dozens. You know there's old saying that covers this situation perfectly, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
I've watched and been a member on some of those other sites too. Some of them have grown to be good ones and some have not. The one constant I have found among the good ones is a healthy dose of decency and decorum about them. Those sites have learned that in order to survive and flourish they must adopt a businesslike approach. With that attitude comes rules and enforcement of those rules. It also entails the realization that it's not in their best interest for their membership to go to other sites stirring up trouble, knowing that it's childish and immature and in the long run, such actions can ruin the reputation of their own site.
Then there are the rest.....

I am a member of several forums, ranging from Lucianne.com, Drudgereport, BluegrassRules, and a few more.
I am amazed at the people who post crap just to be obnoxious.
The "anonaminity" of the internet is not so good at bringing out the best, judging by the underhanded, nasty, infantile, sophomoric and confrontational (not to mention just plain immature) remarks made just to bother someone else.
This is a free site ...I don't pay a da**(r)n thing to join...does ANYONE else pay here? I have gleaned thousands of tips and interesting, useable, valuable, worthwhile (did I say practical and easily implemented?) advice and comments here...FREE, absolutely free.
I do admit the rules are sometimes a bit arbitrary, but where is there a perfect place?
I do know as long as these whining, crying, tearful, commiserating, blubbering (did I say grief-stricken at times?)people act in this manner, there are serious doubts whether they will EVER get to that great Perfect Place someday.
I am so tired of the whiners, I am staining my own shirt over it! I they don't like it, then stay away for a while..they'll be back when they need Powerstroke/general diesel info.
<u>Anyway, I, for one, appreciate this place and say THANK YOU, LESTER! ...and all the MODERATORS..and the horses they rode in on!!for the forming of this site!...bill bogan</u>

you just havent been to a good powerstroke forum yet...one day you will see the light </div></div>yes sir, i found the light about a month ago. and i like it better.
I actually quit coming here q while ago, mainly for the search feature. I am now back, but it will likly be only temporary until I find a better site.
My main complaint is the search feature. It's just awful.

I hope they change the moderators a TON too. </div></div>
I could not say it better maybe they now can get some mods that will answer a question when pm'ed
now maybe they will offer some stickers a day late and a dollar short now that there is a great site that will send you one for free instead of locking the thread with no response from the owner.
when I first bought my truck I thought this was a great place until I got to know the in and outs </div></div>
So why are you still here? And still whining! Bilbo was right.

My main complaint is the search feature. It's just awful. </div></div>Granted the search feature isn't much to write home about, but anyone can ask a question here on TDS (even if it's been asked thousands of times before) and GET AN ANSWER. I think the guys who ridiculed someone for doing that have migrated over to the other sites after being chastized for attacking someone who was simply trying to get information.
I second Teamroper60's comment on decency and decorum. If it doesn't exist, there will just be chaos.
Bravo to all the MODERATORS and anyone else involved especially the sponsors that put up to be here and help. If you look at the WHINNERS most of them are relativly new members. HUH ! Most of the WHINNERS are people that have gotten their buds nipped for rule violations or had some of / or part of their posts deleted. They forget that this is a DIESEL SITE not a grannies got a new cake recipe or how can you get that stain off of your Dockers. "DIESEL SITE" Diesel related, all about diesel's. WHATS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT. You WHINNERS ought to try and start your own site and see if you can get it off the ground. My money says you can't ! I believe these people that ran the site had regular JOBS that put food on their tables and payed their bills. They could not man this site 24/7 and work out all the bugs and answer all your questions without sleep and actually have a life. This question is specifically for the WHINNERS. Did you ever offer to help any of the MODERATORS or offer a donation to help defray any costs that would be incured to hire someone to do work that they could not get done to meet your needs ???? Like was said before, this was a "FREE" site that offered volumns of information that anybody could access, and if they could not find it in the less-than perfect search section, then there was many a member that would pipe in and offer suggestions and good help w/o batting an eyelash, and not lashout at someone because it was a post the week before. Some of you WHINNERS better wake up and see what you can actually get for free these days. Especially when it comes to technical information that can remidy the problem or by-pass it to get us home safe and sound until it can be taken care of properly. MY HATS OFF TO ALL INVOLVED W/ THE DIESEL SITE SINCE IT'S INCEPTION. YOU ALL DESERVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE. Andy
Andy you live a shelterd life. There are plenty of free diesel sites that are as good or even better. When you get involved enough that you get into the "Diesel lifestyle" then you well want to talk with other guys about more then just your foil delete mod and the like. Go to the events and make some diesel buddies and you will see that there is a lot more to it then a question and answer forum

Did you join just to cause trouble?...
If not , why are you here....
Wait till your truck breaks down,
we'll see where you go....

Say what you will about the whiners, but when a post gets deleted congratulating someone on the birth of their child that is way out of line.
I have learned a lot here, helped others out and even had Smokey help me with questions about UBB.
But I won't tolerate issues such as above. If anyone on here thinks the gripes posted above are childish and whiney, you need to look again or get out of whatever forum you're stuck in and see what really is goin on.
Last post, unless this place changes for the better!!
I agree 110% with this post!!! Heck i had a post wacked for letting everyone know one of our great original members passed away last year!! I have rarely been back since and get the help i need elsewhere............

Yup, I think some of the moderators are getting a bit trigger happy. Under the towing forum, topic "heavy duty wheels" I congratulated a member on his new truck and the mod locked the thread as a "brand war". Nothing was said of an inflammatory nature, no bashing...guess the mod woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day....
