With roadrunner. I do get done, but with errors from time to time but I can't see any errors!

5 seconds to load the thread page, 8 seconds to load the reply page - and I am on dialup (28.8k is the best I can get). I use Netzero high speed dialup and it seems to help quite a bit, graphics however do suffer. I also do not look at pictures or avatars so that speeds things up as well.

This site is getting hit and miss as far as load times are concerned. I am running 6meg dsl and load times will go from 3-6 seconds to forever. Last night I was getting blank pages and had to reload them. As far as avatars and pictures, I visit other sites with them enabled and have no problem what soever loading very quick. So it isn't my computer or connection problems.
If the new owners of this site cared about any of it they would come on here and address the problems instead of letting moderators try and defend what is going on. It is no wonder that a lot of the most knowledgeable members are moving over to other sites. You can tell that they are over there by them using their user names that they had here.
This site use to be a great site and could be again but the owners need to care about it.

Jim

Dodge Diesel - Diesel Truck Resource Forums - Powered by vBulletin

Same subject (diesel pickups), same forum software (vBulletin) but the pages load instantaneously. Hmmmm, ya think the difference might be the blizzard of Google ads totally unrelated to the subject of the forum?

Dave / Believer45

Hi Dave,

I'm too on a 28.8k dial-up and before about 2wks ago I had no problem with web page load times although it's no where near as fast as the old forum software, it was acceptable. But lately, wow it's more slow than not.

The thread page loaded fast after getting to the forum but it was 4min just getting to the forum. And no, there's not a thing wrong with my puter as I don't have problems on any other web site.

I am using Vista and Vista is known to have web page problems that needs correcting on the web page software, not the user puter end.

I am sure I could direct you to another site even faster than the Dodge site.
I am OK with that. I also never have been to the site showcased by you, so I have no reason to compare...especially when the site has no appeal to me.
I do know this site is different from what it used to be, but for what I want and enjoy, it is fine.

I'm on WildBlue satellite based internet... Page loads are taking over 2 minutes each time I try to login.
All other websites load quickly, but this site takes FOREVER. Makes it difficult to do research when it takes FOREVER for pages to load.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi RTM,

I don't feel the users should have to use any "special" software as my system works fast on 90% of the websites I use.

I only have a problem with the web sites that are not tweaked to use with Vista.

Saturday night the web site was better. Today I'm back to 3 min loads.

This morning it was 4min to load the first web page and 18min total to load three web pages and ONE thread

And that's not waiting until the full page loads. As soon as I can click go, I'm gone to the next page!

Wow, it's getting worse!!!!!!!!!!

I am using Vista Aero with an HP portable and I am averaging about 15-30 seconds for downloading with IE7. When I try the Safari it is less than that. I do have a high speed cable modem.
