Thumbnail Image

I've been trying to no avail to get the 65x75 image to appear when posting, and for the life of me the darn thing won't work. It keeps saying invalid picture type. Am I doing something wrong? I've used .jpg, .gif, and even a .png, still got the same message. A little help or am I S.O.L.

Re: Thumbnail Image

Under the "Personal Information" link on your "My Home" page, down near the bottom is the box to enter in the URL to where your picture is located. If you have the URL correct you should not have any problem and the image should appear under your user name.

Re: Thumbnail Image

The url must end in .jpg or .gif or .prn.

Click here for a thread where I explained it in more detail.

Re: Thumbnail Image

Smokey,

Thanks for the follow-up. You did that thread while I was out on the road.

Re: Thumbnail Image

I was trying to do that through webshots:

Is there another free place to do this?

Thanks!

Is there another free place to do this?

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah. Can't you do it right here on TheDieselStop? If you post your .jpg photo here, doesn't the URL end in .jpg?

On edit: you have to view the photo in your browser, then right-click on the photo, then click on "properties", then copy the URL of the photo from the properties window - not from the address at the top of the browser screen.

Go to the top of this screen and notice the button for "photos" on one of the menu bars. Click on that and you can view photos of member's trucks. There are two categories:

1) is Ford-Diesel Trucks Photo Submissions. To add your photo there, send an e-mail to Dick Cutting and ask him to post the photo in that section. Dick responded earlier in this thread, so scroll up there and click on his username to see how to contact him.

2) Member Galleries. You can add your own photo there without Dick having to do it for you. No, I don't know how.

I noticed you've already figured out how to post your photo in the Member Galleries. So I copied the URL and put it in my profile. It worked fine. Yes. I had your truck under my name - until later today when I changed it to Garfield.

Here's the URL: http://photos.thedieselstop.com/data...2502-thumb.jpg

The right-click on the photo in Webshots will give you the URL ending in .jpg, but Webshots blocks access to that URL, so that trick won't work with them. But it seems to work here.

Re: Thumbnail Image

You have to do it thru a webpage like your ISPs free space you can get ,,or here works I AM SURE. Webshots made their page where you could not share urls..or something like that. I was one of those that used them before..still do. But for my thumbnail I have another page with Charter.net that I use..well NOW I am using one that another user on here turned me onto!! (Thanks WIDEOPEN!!!) Here is a link to a sight that has several cute icons..some of wich are animated!
