I thank you all for your opinions. I can tell that you really care about this site and I am glad. As several of you have said, and I agree, this is the best site out there for our PSD's. So, I will just have to wade through the swamp to find the useful info.

I am glad you are coming around.
Once you start getting involved and asking the questions that you are having trouble with finding answers, or start replying because you know something that might help, you will develope a relationship with these guys & gals that makes you look foward to talking them every day!
This is like a great big party, we are all here to help each other and make friends. If there is a diesel group get together in your part of the country, go and check it out and meet some of these fine folks and put a face & personality to the names.
I am certain you will start to have fun with this as we have!!

Maybe it's the way you wade. I can blow through this site in about 20 minutes by carefully selecting the topics I wish to follow and ignoring the rest. I also only read topics that have had activity in the last two days so my selction is slimmer.

It sure doesn't hurt to remind the members of the BS volume. Some bike sites that I visit have really gotten cluttered by nonsense but there still is good info on them if you ignore the posters with nothing to say. I just found this website last night and I am impressed with the lack of BS in the 7.3 IDI section. Kind of nice to know that I'm not the only one with a hard-to-start engine.
Just got fired a few weeks ago and now I have the time to look at the engine and endless hours to spend online. I went through about twenty five pages of archives and found lots of useful info. Now I have to see if I have the patience and skill to work it out.
I have seen bulletin board type forums that are out of control. Ebay for example. If somebody did ask something they had to hide their ID behind a new name to avoid retribution by those that disagreed.
I can't stand those stupid annoying dancing avatars and .gif's that pilferate some boards along with the useless comments.
This is the best BB I have come across. I don't think it would be good to police the rules to stringently or keep us right on topic 100% of the time. The moderators do a pretty fair job of deciding what is allowable and what is nonsense. If they only allowed us to post and comment on new subjects there would be darn few posts and everybody would get bored.
I can see where a newcomer might think this is a good ol boys n girls club. I sort of felt that way myself, still do at times. If it is a club it is one anybody can join
BikerJohnny, you were not the object of our comments. The product you were inquiring about was what we were joking about.
If its the joking in general you object to . . well tough
You don't even have to wade through a swamp to find something. All ya gotta do is ask. Members will point you in the right direction even if it's not PSD related. These folks are amazing how much help they can be, with just about any topic.
Yes, it can drive you nuts trying to locate certain information. In those cases a bit if patience and creativity are required trying different search phrases. We use different terminology for identical items i.e. "canopy" and "topper." What's canopy to me is topper to others.
Utah, what kind of social life could you have with all them wimmen at home? I mean come on, thats gotta take a lot of time and you do have to work to support all of them, and waste your money on that new
D$%#ge!!!

My wife has a '94 Subaru SVX....there were only 14,000 of them imported into the country from 92 to 97. She belongs to an SVX site that is just a great place to get info on the cars and troubles that might arise (not too many mechanics are familiar with these little sporty cars).
So when I saw this site, I said....hey hon, I found a website just like the one you joined. So I joined this one, not just for the technical stuff but the commoreaderey, comoradery, (let me try one more time)comoradere, oh hell....the friendship.

Just kidding. Just remember, this is more than just a reference site - it's a community of thousands. With that comes personalities, ideas, comments and a human element. Maybe that's why it's such a dang interesting place!
