On topic - Forum Rules and Regulations ???

Just curious how a legitimate question can be turned into a subtle bashing thread without moderation. One or two posts I can understand, but this thread has gone on for 6 pages.

It only took 3 posts for this thread to get off topic (against Forum rules "POST ON-TOPIC! "), bash a vendor (also against Forum rules "to harass a vendor/store of any kind") and start a series of derogatory comments that are not related whatsoever to the original topic.

This is the thread.

Easy. Because of the topic title.

Most moderators have been around this website for 3 or 4 years or more. During that time we've read dozens of "Kim Lux" threads. We don't read them anymore - except maybe the first one or two posts to see if there's anything new. If there's nothing new in the first couple of posts, then I don't look at it again.

Unless a concerned member clicks on the "notify moderators" button at the bottom of the thread. Nobody did.

Re: On topic - Forum Rules and Regulations ???

Fellow Forum Members:
I am assuming that I am at least part of the reason that the Kim Lux thread was poofed. The Board Gods' decreed noncompliance on at least one member's part. I did not want the thread deleted, but maybe it's for the best. I would like to extend a genuine apology to any and all that I have offended, namely; Grounder, who really always has been a gentleman; Menace, whom I was honestly just having fun with and I believe he took it in fun, and errrr...Pat Dolan, whom I was taking barbs at. I will always find it irksome when opinions are presented as facts. Opinions are fine, they are tailor made for a medium such as an internet forum. They should be presented as such.
What is wrong with challenging someone on how they arrive at their conclusions?
The cackle bond is a small minority, yet they are empowered on this forum. These few would have you believe that this malady is legion in our trucks. I believe the contrary to be true, I believe it's very difficult to find an owner who has a complaint about cackle. I have no opinion on Kim Lux or the DRI upgrade, they might just end up being the cat's pajamas. These are wonderful trucks and should be enjoyed for what they are. Pat, good luck to you and your truck, I mean that.

Best Wishes, Berg

Re: On topic - Forum Rules and Regulations ???

Berg,

Just a helpful hint here. You might want to do a little research in the future to see just whom you are bashing. Pat has been around for a long time and his "opinions" are valued. He has been involved in a lot of debugging with the 7.3's and he speaks from experience. While we're on the topic of being helpful, your funnin' with Dennis didn't come across that way to a lot of people, me included. You were coming across as just another troll, to be honest about it.

At the bottom of every post there is a "Post Extras" section with 4 buttons. One of those buttons is "notify moderators". Put your cursor on each button in turn, and it will spell out the purpose of the button.

When you click on the Notify Moderators button at the bottom of a post, all moderators and Jason the Webmaster receives an e-mail message to look at that post. Of course, we have to look at our e-mail inbox to see it, but most of us check e-mail frequently when we're home (or at work for some folks).

Nope, no such critter on this screen. Looks like my career as the forum fink was short lived

Maybe I have setting turned off or on or something . . . or my eyes are much worse than I think

Thanks all the same.

Hey RheaMan it is the third button from the left of POST EXTRAS. The first one is PRINT POST, second one is REMIND ME, the third one is NOTIFY MODERATOR, the forth one is e-mail post. They are located on the bottom left hand corner of each post in each thread on my pooter Bro.
