Topics..ad nauseam

Seems that certain topics never get resolved and refuse to die such as "loose turbo bolts","AICM","mud flaps".etc. They clog up the new forums with a backlog of redundancy left filed in the archives.

Create a Forum for these unsolved mysteries? Call it the "S.W.A.T." Forum where the folks can organize themselves to a logical focal point? Maybe even find a common thread that is the cause?

Re: Topics..ad nauseam

I had a different take on this.

With the number of new people joining daily, certain common questions are going to come up. Weight ratings, mud flaps, idle controllers, proper driving techniques. It seems like a replay to someone who has been here a while but to a new member, it is a new discussion.

Re: Topics..ad nauseam

Yep Krey,...

You are 100% correct. Think what we really need here is a "Ford Diesels for Dummies" type online "book". (no humor intended)

We were all new and lost once also, especially those that never had a 'truck' or a diesel.Maybe Jason should just publish the archives??
But the repetition of "same ol'e,same ol'e" puts a damper on the new "NUTS" and bolts type discussion we all enjoy to fight over.Heck!! At times we see the same topic three times on the same page. Or it could be made mandatory that one must read the entire forum and memorize the archives before becoming a member with posting privledges??

Hizzy and Krey:

Frow my standpoint, you both are correct. After visiting this site for a while, it seems like the same questions come up time and time again. As Krey pointed out, many new people are visiting, joining and then asking the same questions we asked many months ago.

Shawn Pryde's new "1999-UP FAQ" site at www.Ford-diesel.com/faq/1999faq/ may help reduce much of this. It should be required reading for any new member in my opinion.

Re: Topics..ad nauseam

If you want to help me out with reducing the number of discussions on the issue, help me out by providing enough information to make people say, "Whoa!"

I can put all that info in the FAQ and any time some one asks about that info, you can just say:

"Check the FAQ".
