tracker.exe problem

What is this thing? Every time I click a link, go forward, backward, or anything on TDS I get this download that wants to install itself on my hard drive that informs me that tracker.exe allready exists and asks if I want to replace it. If I say no and cancell it persistantly trys again next click. But if I say OK and install it fails to install. And trys to install all over again. This only happens in TDS.
How do I resolve this nusense.

SpyBot's download site is:

http://www.safer-networking.org/

After ruining SpyBot Search and Destroy I would also suggest downloading Spyware Blaster. Spyware Blaster blocks spy ware before it gets to your hard disc. You just have to update it about once or twice a week. It updates real fast to even for us dial uppers. Its site is:

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

I run both and since starting to use Spyware Blaster SpyBot seldom gets a hit to clear.

Re: tracker.exe problem

tracker.exe is the program that distributes some of our ads. For some reason, your browser is wanting to download the ad instead of displaying it. I've seen this happen with other things when your browser MIME types get messed up. I know how to fix it manually, but can't think of an easy way to do it for you.

Re: tracker.exe problem

I don't appreciate you telling people how to block things that affect the income of this site. Without Commission Junction, some of our advertisers would not know when someone buys products after clicking on their ad here. There is nothing wrong with most cookies, I don't know why people have such a problem with them. You pay nothing for using this site, the advertising pays for it all. If everyone started blocking ads, our advertisers would leave and we would shut down.

Re: tracker.exe problem

I'm not sure what browser you're using, but I really like the speed and performance of Mozilla Firebird, It may be a Netscape product or in partnership with Netscape, I really didn't check it out that much.

It came with Redhat and I just downloaded it for Windows as well. It is free and simple. It blocks popups automatically and runs clean and quick. Just a suggestion.
