Try This To Improve Up Your Response Time

Go to "Control Panel"

Scroll Down to:

"Display preferences, number of shown threads, languages, colors..."

Click on "Edit"

Now, Scroll Down to:

View user's pictures with their posts?

And click "No"

Then "Submit" at the bottom.

You'll lose the picture on the left under the username, but the speed up in response time seems to be well worth giving up the picture.

It only took me about 9 seconds to download and display the "all" 10 pages of the "MPG and CACKLE" thread running under the "Engine and Drivetrain" forum.

Check this out:

Go to This Thread - Like vBulletin Better? .
Scroll down to HerkyBoys post and right click on his picture (be sure to wait for the picture to appear) and select properties. Its size is 283,617 bytes. If you go to his profile (click on his username) and right click and select properties on the picture there, it says it's size is 574,415 bytes. Either way it takes awhile to download that picture over a 28k dialup line.

Give it a try, you can always set it back the way it was if you like the pic's more than the speedier response.

Hope this helps you guys with the slower connections.
