This was the response that Someone got on a thread called " "Im so Boored" It seems to me that if a thread is getting any responces at all it must be interesting to someone,is it really pointless ?? Is it????.....How come someone can talk about his dog and not get shut down but when someone is talking about a TV channel or anything like that it gets locked??? It seems to me that if you guys are going to shut some people down you should just shut the entire Other Thread.......

My two cents worth......

By the way I expect for this thread to get locked anytime now .....

Re: Useless Threads

I got a laugh out of it on an otherwise painful day so the thread had a bit of amusement value to me. Pointless--in the eye of the beholder. Besides, there's another place to go to discuss stuff like that.

Re: Useless Threads

Not locked, but moved to the appropriate forum, which is the News Forum.

It got locked because not every topic is allowed on this board. Chit chat about nothing in particular should be taken to email.

Re: Useless Threads

How about all the threads that degenerate into "me too, me too, me too"? I haven't seen one of them get shut down in a while--maybe it's time to start clamping down on them.

Re: Useless Threads

In times past, when someone would whine about their thread being locked up and how it was their right to free speech and all that yadi yadi, I would post a reply that this is Jason's site and if the rules were broken then the thread needed to be shut down. Many times I will jump up to the Super Duty forums to see what the latest locked up thread was all about and most of the time they were rightfully locked albeit a little late.
However, in this case I could not see any reason why the booored thread was locked. I looked in the rules and didn't see any violations, and it was starting to turn towards Lifetime channel bashing and if there is anything a bunch of guys love to do it is bash the Lifetime Channel. There have been many, many threads started in the Other forum that were waaaaaay more meaningless than this one and they all died a natural death.
Jason and the moderators do a tremendous job of running this web site and if the decision to lock that thread stands then I will accept that and let it go. But, there have been other times when a thread was locked and the moderator reconsidered and removed the lock. I hope this will be one of those instances.
