I just love getting no response from users on the For sale forums. I am sure glad the rest of the site dosen't operate like it. I mean PMs and everything I have filthy luck over there trying to contact people.
I've had the same problem.
I try to keep up on PMs when I post stuff for sale, but sometimes get busy and can't get to the site right away so have been on both ends of it. But I will respond one way or the other. I also like to post when an item has sold so as not to waste others time.

That's a good idea.
To take it one step further, hit the notify moderator button on that "Sold" post, and one of us can delete the whole thread for you so it doesn't even show up on the list.

Would it be possible to "notify moderator" if the seller does not reply within say 5 or 6 days? Just thinking out loud. The sold idea is great though, nothing worse then seeing that part you been looking for and see that it is gone.

While I understand your frustration on not getting responses to your questions/offers, what would a moderator do in the case you suggest? Delete the ad and ban the seller? I think that would be a bit severe.
We are only able to communicate with the seller the same way you do. The classified forums are provided as a service, and it's up to the seller to follow through on his ad. If he's really interested in selling the item, he'll do that.
I am not suggesting a ban. I thought that if a someone posts an ad and does not respond within a say a week or so the thread could be considered dead and therefore removed. Like I said I was only thinking aloud and venting.
If the thread is idle for two weeks it goes away anyhow (not sure how many folks knew about this).
I really do understand the frustration. I had a set of power seats arranged out of Dallas shipped. the "seller" just quit communicating. I have recieved receipts for emails and PMs here on the site, the seller would read but would not respond. I finally assumed the seats were no longer for sale. It just would have been nice for the seller to tell me he/she had a change of mind or found someone local or had priced it too low with shipping included or SOMETHING. I followed up for a couple months - all wasted time, in my book. All I wanted was a YES or NO whether they were available.
