Way Too Much...

.....moderation on this site and way too many ads. I know you guys have got rules and what not, but it can be too much at times. I was simply trying to post info about the IDI rally in the IDI forums. But, it was almost instantly deleted from the 6.9 forum and it was moved out of the 7.3 IDI forum.

Also, why is there two IDI forums? Both the 6.9 and 7.3 IDI should be in one forum. Their differences are not enough to warrent two forums. It's the same guys in both forums anyway.

Rules prohibit cross posting (posting the same thing on more than one forum). Your remaining post is in Events and Rallies, which is where that sort of thing belongs.

If you guys want to consolidate the 6.9 and 7.3 IDI forums, that could probably be done, but if you did that, posters would always have to post engine size so responders would know (kinda like when you go thru the litany at the parts counter - year, make, engine, etc. etc.)

Maybe a poll among the users of those two forums would help the site administration decide whether to merge them.

Well the rules are what they are, but I know these guys don't check the Events/Rallies section because this is the ONLY IDI EVENT/RALLY in the nation. Also I would not have had to "cross post" it if there was a single forum for the IDI's.

I guess there won't be any dieselstop guys at the rally next year eh?

On Edit: Is making the Rally post a "sticky" at the top of the IDI forums impossible or is that asking too much? Sorry, but the IDI crowd doesn't ask much from this site, I was just want these guys to get info on the rally if they want to come.

One thread was moved to the proper forum ("simple courtesy would dictate that a post be moved" - it was)

The second was deleted as cross posting (a duplicate post).

Possible? Of course. But will I do it? No. Because I agree with Kevin, who posted "Your remaining post is in Events and Rallies, which is where that sort of thing belongs".

Most other events don't warrant a stickie in the events and rallies forum. When you post a reply to that thread, it automagically goes to the top of the forum index. If your rally doesn't generate any replies to keep it current in that forum, then apparently there's not much interest in your event.

Take a hint from the North Texas bunch (NTPSA). Post the event in the proper forum, then have club members post replies frequently to keep the topic on top of the forums index until just before the date of the event.

The event is not until the Fourth of July holiday next summer. It's way too early to make it a stickie. But because Missie is involved, and it's a national event, and the first 6.9Ls almost qualify as antiques, then holler at me next Spring about April or May and I'll make it a stickie in the Events and Rallies forum until June 30. Or maybe another moderator or admin would be more acommodating.

Thanks, I'll holler at you in the spring about the sticky idea.
