We don't need no stinkin "Search all forums..."

The WebMaster has turned off the button that allows us to search all forums. Hopefully, that will speed up the site a bit.

But with this newest version of UBBThreads software, it should be extremely rare that anyone needs to search all forums.

Because now, if you need to search more than one forum, you can search a category of forums. You want to search all the '99-up forums? It's in there! In the search window that asks which forum you want to search, click on the

* '99-up SuperDuties

category, and it will search those forums only. Even though those are a lot of database space to search, it's nothing compared to doing all forums, including the archives.

But if you know your answer is in the archives - but you don't know which one? Then you can limit the search to

* Archives

without searching all forums on the website.

We'll try that for awhile, and if those searches begin to slow down the site, then The Boss might disable those too. But right now they work.

Re: We don't need no stinkin "Search all forums..."

The downside is that if I remember only the posters' name, it's a bit more cumbersome of a search than before. But it'll be a small price to pay for faster access.
