Why not have a DieselStop National Convention somewhere? I think it would be cool to meet a lot of you guys from different parts of the country in one place and at one time. It would include booths for vendors to sport their stuff and make some sales and have events like truck pulls, drags and dyno sessions to see for sure who the top dogs are and who are just pups! Heck we can even have little name tags with our usernames on them!
I think that would be really fun and it would do a lot for this site. I think there would be enough people interested where tons of people would show up and it would be profitable for a lot of people. It could even be the beginning of an annual event.
Next summer maybe? That should be plenty of time to get it together!
I'm in for sure! What do you guys think?

Re: We should have a DieselStop National Convention!
Dude, you missed it!! There were hundreds of trucks at a Rally put on by International (They Are The Manufacture Of The Power Stroke Engine) at the Indy Raceway Park the week of the Power Stroke 200 Craftsman Truck Race. It was the first week in Aug.
There were Dino Runs, a diagnostic tent run by Ford & International with their Top Diagnostic people to fix problems that owners were having. Also a show and shine contest. A tour of the Engine Plant in Indy and a Covey down to Louisville to take a tour of the Ford Truck Plant that builds the Super Duty. Then free passes to the Power Stroke 200 Race. The big prise of the whole weekend was a one year free lease of a 2005 Ford F-350 Dually with a PSD of course.
You need to read the Events Forum to find info on this kind of stuff. You have been a member since Jan how did you miss it?
Next big rally will be the NE Rally in Lake George NY next Fall. They're looking for people to help organize it so go over to the Event Forum, check it out and volunteer

Re: We should have a DieselStop National Convention!
Yeah, but I meant a DieselStop type of convention, where it caters more toward DieselStop members and stuff. What you mentioned seems pretty cool and is somthing that I would be interested in, but I envisioned somthing that more specific towards members of this forum where we can get together and do the stuff we like to do. You know what I mean? I see a lot of the same guys here and it would be cool meet everyone on our own terms. We seem to be a differett bunch from the rest and it would be cool to put a face to all the usernames I see here.

Re: We should have a DieselStop National Convention!
Actually we have had a National Rally which Jason and his wife Christi organized in Louisville Kentucky a few years back. We had 155 Ford Powerstroke Trucks which were all members. Ford gave us a tour of their truck plant over the Memorial Day weekend (which apparently the plant manager was unhappy about, seems he had other plans for the weekend till Corporate "asked" him to give a large group of enthusiasts a tour) Then most of us hoped on Ford supplied tour busses for a ride to Indianapolis for a tour of the International Engine Tour.
Setting up rallys is a tremendous amount of work for the folks brave enough to set up to the task. Without hours of hard work and a team of assistants the rally can quickly turn into a miserable flop.
So asking when and who will probably get little response. But for myself I can say you missed one of the best Dieselstop get togethers yet.
Re: We should have a DieselStop National Convention!
Yep, we've had three national rallies so far. The first was Memorial Day weekend 2001 in/near Louisville, KY. Both Ford and International were there.
The next one was near Lake George, NY, north of Albany, in 2002. Both Ford and International were there.
We sorta skipped 2003, other than several regional rallies.
But as Wayne said, the PowerFest rally in Indianapolis last month was another national rally of members of TheDieslStop, organized and hosted by our FOKISD regional club - Ford Ohio Kentucky Indiana Super Duty - with support from Ford and International Truck and Engine.
Yes, I've attended all three of the national rallies so far. Lots of miles on Sierra Blanca to attend those three, plus several regional rallies near Houston and Lake Texoma.
And yes, it's one heck of a lot of work by a bunch of people to put on one of those things. If you'd like to get involved with the next one, then join one of the regional clubs and organize a bunch of the club members to help you put on a big regional rally that Jason annoints as a national rally of TheDieselStop.
