What's this "remove_me_first in my e-mail address?

Why is it when I click on my own name, it shows my e-mail address being Powerstroke2000@remove_me_first@home.com?
That's not the address I put in my profile, and not the one I'd want to be shown here! I would like my correct address in this area, so hopefully someone can explain why it is the way it is, and what I need to do to correct it?

Thanks...

Dale...

Re: What's this "remove_me_first in my e-mail address?

It is a way to reduce the amount of automated harvesting from the boards.

There are programs out there that will surf through the boards and harvest anything that looks like a email address.

When they harvest the yadda@_remove_me_first_yadda.com, the email normally intended for you gets bounced back to the server and you get no spam.

It is a good thing.

I was able to edit the removemefirst out by going to "My Home"->Personal Infomation

Re: What's this "remove_me_first in my e-mail address?

Dale,

You need to say also that does not help with the problem of changing dale2000@home.com and not your new e-mail dale2000@shaw.ca. It reads now dale2000@remove_me_first_home.com and should say if that the case dale2000@_remove_me_first_shaw.ca

Good luck getting this ironed out,

BAZ...

Re: What's this "remove_me_first in my e-mail address?

Thanks also Steve! I've changed my _remove_me_first right out of my address, and have changed it to my exact address.
I understand now why this site is set up the way it is, and I'll assume that a person's real address is exactly what is given when you take out the _remove_me_first_ out of the address? In any case, mine should be correct now that I've deleted that portion out in my preferences.

Thanks for the help guys!

Dale...
