What's Up With This

Jason

I was posting a response to a thread titled Would you buy another Ford SD PSD? dated 8/24 on the 1999 & Up PSD forum. When I entered it and went back to the list of topics, it was gone. It now shows up on page 67 dated 01-24-99. My post response has the same date.

What's up with this ???????

Re: What's Up With This

Mgiles Hi neighbor,

Ain't necessarly so. The first one I purchased either had a bad motherboard or pentiumIII chip. That sucker started throwing parts of Windows off Exe. and dll files. The phone techs and I went down through the BIOS 3 times and when I was playng hearts it threw the whole game section off. Well that did it I sent it back then bought this Gateway. Worked perfect for about 8 months and the harddrive went south. Back to square one one more time. The techs couldn't get it to format and partition over the phone. I played with it for 4 hours and got it done. I don't why but, I have to reinstall Windows back over this one about every month to two months. It is out of warrenty now.

I have an old Compac at work and about once a week it will not let me sign in. we have number to call for problems and I sure do not have to look it up. I was supposed to get a new IBM with Windows NT at the end of August, but that got put off until the first of the year. Guess what- I am going to retire about then. Oh well Jimmy will get the new one. Curtis The fellow who runs the GCs got one of the new ones and boy is it lightyears ahead of the Compac. Most of our instruments in the lab are computer controled now and at times they do have a mind of their own. some are real old and we have reboot discs for them and they are well used. Infact we made a new set of discs for them last week- the old 5 1\2" ones. .

s and take care,

Ed

The problem with computers always has been that they do what you tell them to do, and not what you want them to do.
