What's up with Photopoint ? - Diesel Forum

Anyone else unable to access Photopoint ? I've been trying for two days now and can't get a connection. Keep getting message " This Page Unavailable ". So many of us have our photos there I was wondering if their server was down or like so many other Web based Companies, if they'd gone " belly up " ?

Before this thread gets moved down below, I have been thinking the same thing. as of 12:40pm 7/13/01 it is still unavailable. I also have been trying for a few days.

I noticed it down, then I tried entering the address into the browser instead of allowing the link to insert it for me, and "sha-bang", I got the pics. Try opening up a window and entering the address directly.

Still no albums no matter how I go about entering the site. It has been 4 days now. My link to picture in sig on other site still works however. Hmmmm [img]images/icons/crazy.gif[/img]

Anyone have an e-mail address for a cantact section by any chance? I hate being in lingo. Wonder if we all were scammed. They took our money and shut down the site. Worst part is all the pics I do not have copies of. My fault.

Folks I do not know about your end but on the looky-loo end

is much faster then Photo Point. About three times faster and their enlargements are at least 8 times faster.

They are also still free and are a part of Excite.

I have been checking the different album providers out because I am looking at didgital camers.

So, is it safe to say we have been taken? Or do you think it's possible they are still having problems with their site and trying to resolve it?

P.S. I sent a photo to them to see what happens. I was sent a message from support saying they are not accepting photos at this time. I returned the e-mail wit ha question of what's happening. We'll see. [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img]

Not quite sure why some are using Photopoint when Webshots (site address on above post) is free...especially a site slower than webshots? I've used Photopoint previously too, but when they sent me an e-mail asking for $ it's the last I'll use it. I also have Webshots screensaver option...the best I've seen on the net!
