When is the 07 forum coming? - Diesel Forum

Just a thought... I have seen post scattered about different forums. I think it would be a good idea to fire one up soon.This way all of the info will be in one place.

Ford hasn't announced anything yet, so there is no "info" yet. Just a lot of rumors and speculation.

However, there is news in the business pages that making an '07 diesel engine meet the new emissions requirements will be very expensive. International plans to raise prices of their '07 trucks about $10,000 to offset the cost of the new emissions requirements. No word from Ford yet, but get ready for some sticker shock. The '07 engines will definitely be a lot different than the current 6.0L, so I'm sure Jason will crank up a new forum for them as soon as there is any official info to discuss there. Conventional wisdom, here it seems, would dictate that without a formal Ford announcement of it's existance, the forum should not exist.

To much opportunity for conjecture, flaming, etc.

I don't see anything in the rules that would prohibit you from talking about them in the "Other" forum until they are announced as a sure thing, if ever, and a forum is dedicated to them.

Yes of course it would be "rumors and speculation" at this time. It's these same "rumors and speculations" that are very active threads in 3 different forums right now (General Diesel,General SD questions and the order forum). It's all allowed right now ,lets put it in one place. It would be a lot easier to moderate these rumors as well. Like I said ,just a thought.

Actually, some other sites have factual information about the '07 & 6.4 TT.

Some rumors have been dispelled and many facts are slowly becoming available in these dedicated forums.

The world is not flat.

As you surely know, the mere mention of other sites, by name, would doom this thread to extinction.

Another site links an interview with an International V.P.

In addition, it seems that more and more info is leaking out as time goes by.

Ask Ford_Doc. He has some knowledge of the '07, 6.4 dual turbo. How much he can or will divulge is obviously his prerogative.

I invite anyone that is interested to explore the world of the internet. You will not drop off the edge of the world.

No matter what any insider says,

It is all rumor and can't be held as fact till FORD OFFICALLY says what the specs are of the engine that will be going in THEIR trucks.

No matter what International is putting in other trucks besides Ford.

Believe it or not, no matter to me. All I can do is provide evidence. The article is specific to the Powerstroke and not other International engines. Live with blinders if you must but, why condem others to live that way as well?

BTW: I like Farmersville, pretty country. Almost bought a little land there myself. To bad the big city is encroaching on you.

The following is an excerpt from Diesel Forecast interviewing Timothy J.Cooney, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for the International Truck and Engine Corporation

DF: The new 6.4L Powerstroke will have dual EGR systems with separate coolers. Are you still working on new technologies as far as engine combustion goes?

TC: Yes, absolutely. We're trying to look at each one of those and take advantage of those as quickly and expediently as we can. The more you can control the emissions outflow, the less expense then gets hooked onto the engine.

DF: Are you looking at 2010?

TC: There's no question. We have programs active and underway for the emissions for 2010 as well. Our immediate focus right now though, is launching perfectly the 2007 (product) to meet those emissions regulations. And while we do have programs going on in 2010, our energy is focused on 2007. And as soon as we get that launch off the ground, it's all hands on deck for 2010.

And I can't wait with all those extra gizmos they are going to have on that thing, folks will be begging for the 6.0 leaks and all. The 6.4 will be the best thing that ever happened to this site.
