How long was it actually down? I've been fiddling around with other/lesser websites, waiting for my morning "fix" for a few hours.

Re: Whew that was a long drought

Don't know the total time, but when I tried to get on last night at about 9:00 (I think) it was down and still was at 6:30 or so this morning.

I must be addicted to this site cause there was not much else I was interested in last night and ended just shutting the system down due to boredom!!

Best I can tell it was between 10 and 10:30 last night until around the time I posted this thread. I'm sure Jason will give us the low down when he catches up.

Re: Whew that was a long drought

Well my time reference was CST which I guess would coinside with 10:00 if it refered to EST where the server is located. Of course, I may have not been paying much attention and it may have been 10 CST.

Anyway, I too am going to be very curious to learn what happened.

Maybe Jason was just giving us a friendly reminder of how well we have it to have a site like this. You know something along the lines that "absense makes the heart grow fonder"

Re: Whew that was a long drought

Sorry guys, when I upgraded some packages on the server this week, it turned an option on that logs ALL database accesses. Those log files quickly filled up on the database server's hard drives. This happened one time before last year some time. Some of the forum database tables were corrupt, but all seemed to repair okay. If any of your posts made since last night are gone, they were probably corrupt.

Re: Whew that was a long drought

I was getting all kinds of messages, connection refused, connection terminated, connection failed and a bunch of other stuff I can't even begin to remember, now that "we" are up and running again I guess I better call the suicide prevention hotline back and tell them I have decided to stick around for awhile longer.
