Why do I get logged off while I am writing a long Reply!
How can I get the system to wait longer before it drops my log-in?
It is counter productive to spend time getting the information to help someone and then have the thedieselstop delete it all when I hit quick post because I have been logged out!

I don't know. It hasn't happened to me in a long time, and I'm known to wordsmith some lengthy replies that require several minutes or more to research and write.
Way back when, it happened to me because my ISP was cutting me off after so many minutes without sending or receiving anything to the internet. But I have HughesNet satellite connection now, and they never cut me off.
One fix is every time you forsee a long reply, or a long time to research and wordsmith the reply, then write the reply in your word processor, then copy and past it into the editor on TheDieselStop after it's finished.
Do you think its the ISP? We've got a DSL connection here, and I get logged off after about 20 mins. Its pretty frustrating. I go off to do other things & come back & I've been logged off - bummer.
Thanks
OMC

I write my longer replies in MS Word, spell check them, and then cut and paste them into the reply blank. I had the same thing happen to me too many times on another site.

I wonder if this may be an issue with how your internet browser is configured. I use Firefox, and I when I log into TheDieselStop I check the little box for it to keep me logged in. Now I only have to log back in once a month or so when a browser upgrade comes out.

I agree. I've never had to log back in that I can recall. I have my browser and computer setup to remember me, and I'm logged in as soon as I click the favorite for TDS. I can walk away and come back hours later and still be logged in.
I just checked the profile page under My Account here on TDS and didn't find a logout time setting at all.
Check your browser settings and/or your ISP account configuration.
