Why so large a display font size?

Recently the display font has been increased. Even running 1280x1024 resolution, a lot of material runs off the side of the screen, requiring left/right scrolling. Why was the size increased so much? Makes it much more time consuming to read. Am I the only one who thinks this is too large? If I was running lower resolution, it would even be more of a pain. Most web pages are built for 800x600 display these days.

Re: Why so large a display font size?

I haven noticed any change on mine. I run 800x600 internet standard resolution, and don't have any problem seeing the entire width of the screen on my old 13" monitor.

Re: Why so large a display font size?

I have also had a problem with wide screens that require left and right scrolling, not all of he time, just comes and goes. Sent an e-mail to the webmaster several days ago but no reply yet

Re: Why so large a display font size?

Jason,
I never noticed this before but after reading this thread (which fits fine in the screen as all others always have) I went to another thread "Question for Mark Craig" and it does read over width. Font is the same size but I have to scroll sideways to read each line. Can't be our computers on our end because I made no changes between thread changes.

Re: Why so large a display font size?

per Jason...
Font sizes are a function of your computer and web browser. I only have limited control over what font style and size you see (always overridden by your computer). If something has changed, it has changed on your computer.
*********************
Nothing has changed on my computer. This is the only site that I see this difference. I know what is happening here, as I design web pages and must constantly test and monitor them.

Re: Why so large a display font size?

Whatever you say, but we've changed nothing. Everything looks exactly the same for me (on the several different computers I use each day).

Re: Why so large a display font size?

I never use carriage returns when posting and have never needed to scroll sideways except that post to Mark Craig. No big deal just trying to make a point that there is something going on with some posts and not with most others.
