Wrongfully Moving posts

I noticed a 6.0 owner posted in the 6.0 engine forum asking about Schaeffers Soy Shield additive. Apparently a moderater movied it to the biodiesel and alternayice fuels forum. IMHO, asking how an additive such as Stanadyne, Power Service, Schaeffer's Soyshield, etc works in his truck is 100% on topic. This product is not biodiesel nor is it an alternative fuel. Yes, it has a soy derived component as part of it's chemistry but it is an additve on the par of Stanadyne. So I ask that moderaters treat it as such and give it the same allownace as the other additives out there. After all, most of the Bio guys aren't wasting their time on addiives so you are basically relegating any additive to an unanswered status when you move it to the Bio forums.

Re: Wrongfully Moving posts

It would seem of late, there have been a rash of hastily made decisions. Whether due to the changing of the guard, or new mandates from Jason himself.

To the credit of those involved, if there is some pluasible reason for something being where it was, which was overlooked earlier, they have made things right, to the point of unlocking a thread that was previously locked. Your argument makes perfect sense to me, not that my endorsement will help you at all . Good luck in your plight!

Re: Wrongfully Moving posts

Your argument makes sense Hammer, but is it 6.0L specific? What about the 7.3L guys, (from IDI to '03 Superduties)? How about the guys who drive other diesels? There are limitations to everything.

I agree it's probably misplaced in the Biodiesel forum.

How does General Diesel work for you?

If you agree, I'll move it there (wasn't my moderation in the first place, but none of us are perfect ).

the way I saw it, the guy had a 6.0 and was asking it in his forum to see how it works in that particular truck.

the reason I am focused on a specific usage is because I have experimented extensively with additives, whether by themselves or mixed with others, and get different results in different engines. An example is that my Cummins N14 likes a different additive blend than my 7.3 PSD.

In the case of the original poster, I think he would benefit more by asking how Soyshield works in a 6.0 forum versus the general Diesel forum because in the GD forum he will get opinions across the diesel spectrum that may not agree with his 6.0 PSD's specific additive reaction.

That being said, General Diesel is IMHO, better than the biodiesel forum.

OK, done deal. The 6.0L guys can follow the pointer(s) to the new location.

On edit: one of the other guys beat me to it. Only one pointer, too.

Re: Wrongfully Moving posts

I did the original move. I intended nothing more than getting the thread to where it would get the most and best exposure. I agree General Diesel is much better as it is an additive not an alternative fuel.

I have now corrected my error.
