Any 2008 Sportsman 90 Owners Out There?

I am looking into a 90cc ATV for my son, and am considering a Polaris Sportsman 90. He currently rides a Suzuki Quadmaster 50, but is too big for it anymore. I have never been a Polaris fan as many of my friends have had them with no real good stories to report. I have a friend with an older two-stroke Polaris 90 that has had nothing but issues. The new model I am looking at is a 2008 model that is a four-stroke, and supposedly much improved in reliability and starting. I am a big Yamaha fan, but the Raptor is smaller, has much less suspension travel, and does not have reverse, lights, and some of the other things that just make the Polaris a better value machine. I can pick up the Polaris for about $400 to $500 less than the comparable Arctic Cat 90 (lighted and reverse), and about the same $400 difference to the Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki 90cc units.
I put a 2008 Polaris 90 on hold today as it is the last one available and has the rebates taking the price down to about $2,000. I am lookig for some input before I pull the trigger. It seems the adult Polaris machines several years ago were nothing but carburetor and electrical headaches. I don't want to go down that road, but the Son wants racks, reverse, lights, etc. that the Polaris has the corner on.
Thanks.

If it's helpful at all I can give you my opinion on the Sportsman 500 but I don't have a clue about the 90's. I bought mine new in 2005 or 6 and I've been real happy with it. Well engineered throughout, love the Cadillac ride, it runs like a top, had the ECM replaced due to a recall when it was brand new, no problems of any kind since. After I bought mine, I was on a couple Polaris ATV forums and most everyone there liked theirs too and had no problems (other than a few idiots that used theirs as a submarine). But with that said, it seems like all the brands are high quality and trouble free nowdays so it boils down to personal preference.

2008 Sportsman 90

Bad do not buy, dealer nor Polaris will help you it has carb issues also battery will not last. Got a new 2008 sportsman 90 would not idle from day one, hard time getting it started to. Took it back to dealer charged $90.00 and did not fix the problem, they said to bring it back so they could get another $90.00 on a problem they could not fix . they say the carb on the 2008 model had issues . They also said to buy a new carb for $350 plus to fix the problem . Since it had carb issues they could not fix from day one, they should have gave me another carb, but they won't, my advice, stay away from Polaris and Berglund outdoors in Roanoke Virginia all together
