Is Callfornia water contaminated?

I often wonder because they do come up with some over the top ideas there!

cbs13.com - CA. AG Cracks Down On Nestle Bottling Plant

At the risk of getting censored again here is a very short excerpt!

"It takes massive quantities of oil to produce plastic water bottles and to ship them in diesel trucks across the United States"

I didn't read the article but to answer your question:

California water tastes like absolute crap.

My drinking water comes from a frosty mountain that nobody is allowed to access, fills a reservior is screened and chlorinated then pumped into the mains.

California water is recycled from treated sewage and replacement water is pumped from wells that are supersaturated with minerals.

Bottled Water is a must there along with those 5 gallon water cooler thingies. Everyone there has one.

Maybe you should. It has more to do with the envriomental impact of a bottling plant than contaminated water. Mccloud is a small town in the mountians and they would like to keep their town that way. With all the Politicians jumping on the "green" wagon, our AG is threatening some action against Nestle, the company that intends to run the plant. I am not offended by any comments from anyone as we are all entitled to them. But I would be willing to bet that if you did some research on water cycles in the WORLD, you would find that your water is the same as mine just filtered better. No offense meant...no offense taken

My comments were meant to be offensive to anyone that would find them offensive...especially you.

Point being, in SoCal bottled water is popular for good reason.

A handful of sand tastes better than their tapwater and would strip less mucous off of the inside of your mouth.

I just read the article.

1) NIMBY's

2) Global whining

3) If that nutcase Jerry Brown would shut up he'd probably do more to reduce global warming than opposing an industrial development for such silly-ass reasons

4) My views are in the distinct minority around here in California

My water comes from ....

here:

Mokelumne River - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tastes pretty good too!

I find bottled water wasteful.... much better to get a good filter system like Britta and put the filtered water into reusable sport bottles.

My Grampa would be rolling on the floor laughing if someone told him you had to pay a buck for a bottle of water....

Last I knew, they pulled Jerry Brown's feeding tube and made him mayor of Oakland (is that perfect, or what?) Now he's back on the scene as AG?
If you go to Redding.com : Redding, California, News, Business, Homes, Jobs, Cars & Information then click on the article, scroll down to the local's opinions, he's not exactly #1 boy.

A lot of bottledwater is municipal water that is run through a Reverse Osmosis system. Then it is run through tanks containing minerals to put taste back in the water, and finallyy hit with some Ozone for disinfection. The Ozone off gases when you break the seal much like opening a bottle of soda. Keith

Maybe we should go entirely with bottled water and have Municipal Drinking Pepsi systems instead?

The only reason people are against bottled water is because it's already right there in ample supply at the tap while Pepsi and other equally horrid beverages are not.

Me either. I like tap water. It's my prime source of roughage, and helps build the immune system. And it's tested as typically being healthier than the bottled water.
