F-150 police cars?

Yup, today I saw a F-150 Lariat in black with the blue lights under the hood, and strobes in the front and rear lights. Blacked out glass and fancy wheels, now that is an unmarked police car.....uh truck.

The local police here have several unmarked Impalas. A couple of them even have Enterprise E decals on the trunks...almost too sneaky. They also have several Tahoes with no observable strobe lights as well as a generic panel van complete with ladders on the roof rack. About the only way they stand out is the overly-dark window tint that you or I would get a ticket for.

They've got two of them where I live but they are both well marked. I'll have to start looking for the sneaky ones.

Police out here have been using those along with Rams and Silverados for a while now. The police here even used a Ram (in full police paint and lights) in a funeral procession to bring an officer killed in the line of duty to his final resting place. I'd never seen that before.

I can't imagine stopping for an unmarked pickup truck - many folks would think that it's a volunteer fireman on the way to a call.

Reminds me of when I grew up in NY. We had lots of Volunteer Fire Men. I had forgot all about them. We don't have any of those where I live now as the fire stations are city owned and operated.
We have lots of unmarked police vehicles here, all different types. When in doubt, put you emergency flashers on, then call 911 and tell them you are being pursued by a vehicle that you suspect may/may not be a police vehicle and are proceeding to a well lit public place before you pull over.
Then keep your hands in plain sight and don't do anything stoopid!

They've been switching over to the Silverado and Tahoe for the Lic&Wt units for a while now as they faze out the F-150s, but they're all marked (black/white). Travis County Sheriffs are using the Silverado with a clear low profile light bar that is hard to notice as different from a civilian truck.

A classic Texas scene I saw just the other day was a TCS Silverado having pulled over a hot Lotus on the freeway downtown, with the urban skyline, it would have made a nice pic as he was discussing things with the driver...down at about his knee level.

Don't think I've ever seen an unmarked P/U though. Stop in the middle lane of the Interstate (NAFTA hwy) on a Saturday morning and start waving a gun around making threats and boy, Plenty of black unmarked SUVs coming out of nowhere all limo tinted up. (Nice little 2 hour stand-off and stopped traffic picnic to waste a morning recently)

Of course these were different from the ones that show up in town when the Prez is a visiting. Man, how DO they (SS) keep those things so clean?

We even have a few F150 Sportcrews around our area. Look really neat. Easy to outrun.
