How can a thread be "off topic" in an "off topic" forum??? - Diesel Forum

The Ford Class Action thread was locked as being "off topic". Which rule did it violate? In which forum would it be considered "on topic"???

Here is what the rules say:

Do not use our forums to drum up support for any legal action, to harass a vendor/store of any kind, or to solicit support for any type of "cause". These forums are for technical discussions and are not to be used as your personal soapbox.

There are some topics that are not allowed anywhere on TheDieselStop. Partisan politics, religion, and gun control are the three most prominent. There are others - including something about lawsuits and pushing a "cause".
