What I don't get is that the illegal Mexicans enjoy unbridled capitalism while voting for the commies. The commies need their votes and will make them citizens and then screw them over by making them pay taxes.

Hospitals are forced to treat everyone by law. This law should be repealed. If you don't have insurance or money it should be the voluntary choice of the hospital to treat you. My local hospital treats everyone regardless of funds and then passes that cost to others. Some hospital don't make enough profit to afford non paying patients.

When did profit become a crime? Stop listening to these propagandists trying to destroy this country. Everyone needs to profit, otherwise you just live paycheck to paycheck. Without profit corporations serve no purpose, they can't grow or create new jobs or invest in new projects or goods.

Health insurance companies make about 3% profit which is low compared to other industries. Profits by Industry Bad mouthing insurance companies is just the commie party line.

The current administration bashes the previous 8 years. Are they kidding? They have destroyed this country in one short year. The debt amassed is unrepayable. Spending money that is borrowed is insane. This administration is like putting children in charge of the cookie jar.

Hi Kude. If an insurance company makes zero profit, are the doctors getting paid more or are the people paying the premiums paying less or are the insurance company employees (who are the most essential part of the equation since they have the degrees in medicine) making more?

Ok, so lets say the insurance company is very well run and makes 50% profit and it's based in London? This of course helps the U.S. economy since profit going overseas helps citizens here keep more of their money here.

And then of course everyone knows that all "Mexicans" are illegal immigrants since you can tell country of origin by skin color.

And of course all the debt we have today was racked up in the past year because GW would never put the government into debt by giving tax breaks to companies that are based overseas.

- REFORM #1: Sell Insurance Across State Lines

Here's the pros and cons on that proposal.

Should you be able to buy health insurance across state lines? | Seattle/LocalHealthGuide

Not quite the slam dunk some people would have you believe.

- REFORM #2: Let individuals purchase health insurance with pre-tax dollars

- REFORM #3:Encourage Health Care Savings Accounts (HSAs)

- REFORM #5: Covering the uninsured

Those would do next to nothing to help the people who work for minimum wage and can barely afford to feed their families as it is. Not to mention it doesn't do a whole lot for small business owners, farmers, ranchers, etc., etc.

So once again, the only answer the right has is to cut taxes for the higher income people and to reemphasize their mantra of.... "I have mine......forget about you."

REFORM #4: End abusive medical litigation

I agree but, since it is between 2%-3% of total medical costs.......it isn't gonna make a whole lot of difference.

Minimum wage jobs and the minimum wage was not ever meant to fulfill the needs of a family, if it was, then $20/hr should be the minimum wage. If health insurance was meant to be "right", then what about "minimum" housing? Proper vehicle? Proper phone service? Next would be internet service, TV's, guaranteed job.......where does it end? No one ever said "life" was fair. Work your butt off and get an education; invent something worthwhile and make a million; go to college and get a good job; join the military and learn a good trade. But in America, you make your own way and that includes buying your own insurance.

As far as tort reform goes, the main thing that will do is make it easier for doctors to exist and for the medical personnel as a whole to expand. As it stands now, the cost of liability insurance for the medical field keeps many doctors from practicing. GYN numbers are down almost 50% from 15 years ago, mostly due to mal-practice insurance. You wonder why drug companies charge so much, just look at how many drugs are sued for a minute percentage of bad reactions. If asprin makers were sued for reactions and deaths, none of us would have asprins on the shelves.

I believe health care for all American citizens should be a right.

But then again, I'm not one of the..... "I got mine....forget you" ....crowd.

And I sure hope you are never one of the thousands of people every year that have to declare personal bankruptcy, because either they couldn't afford the 20% co-pay or......... their insurance company has dropped them because of lifetime benfit maximums.

Do you even drive a Ford Diesel? Health care is not a right, Rights are in the Constitution. Health care should be affordable, which in many cases it is not. The issues you mention above can be addressed with out a Gov. run system. I see AirAmerica closed down today due to bankruptcy;if you're looking for a new place for information FoxNews would be a good change of pace.

What exactly does that have to do with anything?

I first joined this site 6 years ago. You've been here a few months and want to question my "right" to be here?

Yeah, it sounds like you'll make a good little Republican one day when you grow up.

Hey, blacks could be owned as property and the right to vote for blacks and women weren't in the original one either.

Since they can now.......I wonder how that happened?

How can I miss what I've never watched?

It doesn't surprise me that it shut down. The only audience that I see for hate and vitriol.............. is coming from the right.
