Well, the one I get to use for flight instruction!

The not so pretty "Crayola", a 1999 Schweizer 300C. I flew it on Wednesday for the first time.

Their other bird, a 1978 Hughes 269C. If you didn't know, Hughes licensed manufacturing rights to Schweizer and in 1983 began marketing them as the 300C. In 1984, Hughes was sold to McDonnell Douglas and Schweizer has been the sole producer since buying the rights from MD.

Thanks guys! It is a fun little machine. If you've never been in one I recommend it, just to see what they're capable of.

The first lesson was an intro. We climbed to 1000' AGL and did an auto into the wind, then pulled power into a hover at 10' and I did some pedal/cyclic hovering. The instructor said I did pretty well considering it was 15 gusting to 22
