New Republican leader

GOP elects first black national party chairman

Steele won a scholarship to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. In his first year there, Steele was elected class president and was a member of the fencing team. At Hopkins, Steele earned a bachelor's degree in international relations in 1981.
After college, Steele spent three years as a seminarian in the Order of St. Augustine in preparation for the priesthood. He entered the Augustinian Friars Seminary at Villanova University in Pennsylvania. As a seminarian, he taught freshman world history and senior economics for one year at Malvern Prep School in Malvern, Pennsylvania, but ultimately decided on a career in law and he left the Seminary prior to taking the vows.

Steele then entered the Georgetown University Law Center and in 1991, he received his Juris Doctor degree.

Very cool guy! I'm betting he will be a star!

It's not official until Limpbaugh anoints him.

Michael Steele is a good man for the job. I can not believe the animosity that is already coming out against him. Here in the Seattle/Puget Sound area, the blogs in one local newspaper are already filled with sick, hate filled left wing racial slurs.

Smart men with enough black African blood to be known as "black" Americans are not allowed to be conservative capitalists. Like Justice Thomas. They are supposed to be radical liberal socialists. Like our new president. Or didn't you know that?

Party politics aside, I've been following this guy for years, he's a pretty smart guy with a lot of savvy and polish. I'm betting he will go a long way. It would be sad to see a decent guy like Mike Steel be denigrated just because he is black and not on the typical side blacks must be on.

As to AK/Rick-L's snide comment. Typical, jumping on the negative because Steel is on the other side. I prefer to judge people by their actions rather than (D) or (R) which is at best myopic and at worst moronic.

Michael Steele is an excellent choice! He is greatly superior in knowledge, and experience compared to our new clown at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. It sure is amazing, how well educated, intelligent, and conservative people are ridiculed. It is getting closer everyday to flying Old Glory inverted. Our Founding Fathers would not be pleased.

Not call the new president names. I didn't vote for him but he is there. As he goes forward with some of the things he has in mind I will probably state my objections and probably write the WH as I have in the past.

And rightfully so.

Anyone who resorts to personal attacks because they can't adequately express themselves on the topic at hand deserves to be censored.

As usual, you missed my point.

The new Republican "leader" will not have any credibility until such time as the "unoffical leader" (Limpbaugh).........actually says he's the leader.

During the campaign it was one thing (vaguely) and now it appears to be another. I have my suspicions, we shall see and probably fairly soon.

Yea, I called the new president a clown, even though, I don't find him amusing, or his liberal appointments, some of which don't know how to pay their taxes. I am wrong making "fun" of the office of the President. It is not intended at the position, it is the person. I have the utmost respect for the Office of the President, but number 44 is a disgrace. We shall see how pleased his supporters will be in the future. Hopefully, they will be happy with socialism, and marxism.
