Are you angry because one TV station thought (as a result of the video feed they were given) that the guy was white?
I saw it live and it was obvious that he was black. Big deal.
I also watched the interview with the local right-radio-talking-head who said that the black guy was a friend of his, that they had basically planned it and that they had even let the authorities know that they would be at the rally carrying firearms. Does anyone not really believe that the black guy was chosen to carry the assault looking rifle specifically to make a point?
The big issue in my mind is that anyone would show up at such an emotional meeting carrying a gun (even if it is legal....it's not real smart). After all, the only reason for doing it is to imply some sort of threat. And I said the same thing when there were blacks, with guns, standing around outside polling stations during the election.
You still can't get around the irrefutable fact that there are a bunch of racists out there that would love to see the President Of The United States shot down like a rabid dog.................. simply because he is black.

Even if only 10% of the members in these groups (and I would bet the % is a lot higher) are avowed racists (against blacks), I would classify that as a................................. "bunch."
So, if I have this straight, a guy went out in public openly carrying, in a state where open carry is legal, and nothing happened.
The question which we should be asking isn't "why did MSNBC conceal his race", but "why did they broadcast this drivel at all?" To me, it looks like they're trying to manufacture a conflict where there really isn't any.

Institutional discrimination (Frank Ricci) seems to only go one direction. It is promoted and supported by our government. To me, that is much worse than individual racism and discrimination.

No. It was a conflict because he did it for that very reason. Or, did he actually feel the need to be armed? He was in fear for his life? jayea.

That is right. The government should be color blind.
I would *hope* that individuals would not discriminate, but in the end, they should be free to do so.

It's a pendulum and sometimes it swings too far in both directions.
When (and if) there currently exists 'institutional discrimination' in some areas ............why do you think that is? Or did you not have a problem with almost 200 years of 'institutional discrimination' against blacks?
It couldn't by any chance be because just a little over 50 years ago a person had to drink out of a different water fountain, use a different bathroom, stay in a different hotel, etc., etc.........all based on their skin color...................now would it?
Hopefully, the pendulum will eventually slow down and center itself so that we can avoid stereotyping and disliking a person simply because of their skin color.
After all, not a single one of us can claim to have done anything special to have earned the privilege of being born a white male.
It was just plain luck.
And if I had a magic wand, I would love to wave it and make some people black..................... just so they could walk a mile in someone else's shoes.
