I like the companies having the freedom to move plants to Mexico or where ever they want to move. I also like the freedom to buy or not buy whatever brand I want for whatever reason I choose. It's called the free market. The problem is government trying to manage the free market. I'd wager that 50 Senators combined couldn't manage a large company like GM and make a profit.

For those of you that are thinking about Odyssey batteries, Sears has what appears to be the same battery in a group 65 for under 200 bucks.

Did you see them? Do you have a link?

Because until I see one of them, I don't believe it.

Kinetic batteries? Are you talking about batteries with capicators to store energy?

It's "Kinetik", not "Kinetic", and it seems like they offer more hype than performance.

I believe you think you are telling it like it is. It's just that I've had a lot of exposure to automotive batteries and I just don't see the possibility of having a battery in a package that will fit in a group 65 tray that has 1600 CCA's and that can be purchased for 300 bucks.

Im not gonna give up on this!!! I understand that 1600 CCA's is alot for any battery. But look at the 100 series battery, its got 950 CCA's and it sits under the back seat of a buick, but it is a pretty large battery. But like I said I'm gonna look into it tommorow, if I'm wrong I will admit it and hopefully find out where I went astray.

Deka makes a good AGM battery and they are made here! Can't say I care for the Odyssey battery. They have no safety vent on them so if they are overcharged they swell up. If one was to get a short in it after it swelled up it would make a nice explosion.

Q. What is so special about pure lead tin technology? Is it a new technology?

A. While the answer to the first part of the question requires a detailed response, the short answer is that the extremely high purity (99.99%) of our raw materials makes our product very special. The technology is not new; the valve regulated lead recombinant technology was invented and patented by us back in 1973.

I'm not saying it's so, just pasting what they say!

Yeah just looked on their site. I remember about 4 years ago looking on their site as I was looking for a AGM type battery and the FAQ page was filled with questions about swelled batteries. Must have been bad for business because its no longer on there.
