Ah, my kinda guy!
No, the bad one that hit northern CO and southern WY missed us in the northern part of the state except for a few clouds and a few flakes. But we got hit bad about two weeks ago, devestated what was going to be a record sugar beet crop here and into MT. Got snow with some deep drifts and I had to help push 100+ head of cattle through it for about 6+ miles through the sage brush and over the mountain. Just me and the rancher's full time cowboy so there was a lot of backtracking for little herds that we missed. The only positive note was he has two cowdogs that are young but he's done a terrific job with them and they saved us a ton of extra work all day. Worn out horse, sore back (me, not him), 20 degrees all day, but no wind. Naturally 3 days later it was close to 70 every day.
We just got severe wind warnings for this local area so I guess we got a real dandy coming in although the sat pic on Yahoo Weather over us and Idaho doesn't look to bad yet. Just looked again and it looks really heavy over Washington right now, must be the one your youngest is referring to. Sometimes the the bad ones drop down and hit his area rather than coming straight east like they normally do. I read why that happens but can't recall right now. Jet stream changes maybe.
I meant to mention, I've clicked on your pics more than once but never could find any of your trip pics. Thought you said you had them posted.
