So much for the 2nd Amendment

Search Results - THOMAS (Library of Congress)

It appears that things are going to start going downhill really fast. If you read this thing, keep in mind that the the author, US Congressman Bobby Rush, is a former member of the Black Stone Rangers street gang, the Black Panthers, a recognized terrorist organization from the sixties and is a former inmate of a Federal penitentiary as a convicted felon.

Another fine Illinois politician.

H.R.45 has zero cosponsors, was introduced a month ago, was referred to committee the same day it was introduced and hasn't seen the light of day since. I daresay it's premature to get your knickers in a knot over it.

As I mentioned in a previous post, when you have the Pres, his Chief of Staff, the VP and the AG all rabid anti-gun and anti-ammunition people, there are valid reasons for concern. Just look at some of the legislation they championed in the past. There is a very well funded, well organized anti-gun lobby funneling money into their campaign coffers and in politics, MONEY SPEAKS. In my still protected First Amendment opinion, these people just can not be trusted!

Yes..
This bill will be used as a fund raiser by both sides of the issue..

If one side would not threaten our Freedoms under The Constitution and The Bill of Rights, there would be no reason for fund raising. The trial lawyers are the sure winners in these cases and I wonder where they funnel their campaign donations?

Gents, the same day that H.R.45 was introduced there were to other bills introduced to expand our legal rights with regards to concealed carry reciprocity laws (hr 197) and and expanded self defense legislation (hr 17). I agree, with only one sponsor, hr 45 isnt going anywhere, however the other two have quite a few sponsors, however mostly all Republicans.

Did anybody see the piece about our lovely US Attorney General saying that the assault weapons ban needs to be reinstated because the Mexican drug cartels are using fully automatic weapons and hand grenades and the Mexican authorities are saying the weapons are coming from the USA.

How does banning semi automatic firearms help the Mexican government fight drug cartels who are using fully automatic machine guns? I hope I can survive the next 4 (8) years without moving to a line shack in Montana.

Yep, less than an hour ago on Hannity. Pretty pathetic. The laughable part is the anti-gunners are so ignorant regarding firearms, they'll ban a military style, black nasty looking semi-automatic so called "assault" rifle, but not a "normal" looking Savage, Remington, etc, semi-auto hunting rifle that has the same firepower and is available in much more powerful calibers.

Give them time and they will come up with a reason to try and take them also. It is funny that the new uproar is lead in bullets and how it is for you to eat game meat that you have shot with a leaded bullet. I haven't seen or heard about Wyoming but if you hunt in northern Arizona or southwest Utah they want you to use non-lead bullets to save the California Condor witch I can understand. But now you are talking about full copper hollow point bullets with a lot more energy witch will penetrate body armor a lot easier than lead bullets. Now we are back to "Cop killer" bullets if they want to ban all lead bullets. Then comes a ban on the new copper ones.
The only good thing about any of this is if any of you can remember after Clinton passed his first "Black Rifle" ban was that a lot of the democrats lost seats in congress because of their support of the ban and it may happen again.

Don't laugh about the lead in bullets argument. The anti gunners have bankrupted a number of shooting ranges by misusing the environmental laws to force them to clean up any possible lead "contamination" present from years of shooting lead bullets there. Front door, back door or through the windows, these people are well funded and IMHO their goal is to completely gut the Second Amendment any way they can. To them, The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are "Words,.....Just Words"
