They found the evil speculators that were manipulating the market !

They found them ! Back in March of 2007, they made about a million dollars in profit for their efforts. Are we happy now ?

Bloomberg.com: News

The thing I find interesting is "The schemes forced prices both higher and lower." That is the neat thing about futures contracts, you can make money from them when oil goes up OR down.

What makes you think they are calling for reregulation because anyone is doing anything "Illegal"?

Speculator is on record saying that speculators are helping America because they caused oil prices to increase NOW rather in the future when supplies really do start getting tight and that this was beneficial because we will now be ready for it when it does happen.

I would enjoy you responding to that.

Speculator said that speculators have caused prices to increase which is what I have said from the GET GO, so what exactly are you arguing Mack?

Speculators get the boot, prices fall. That is our objective here.

YouTube - Oil speculation and oil prices

Around the 4 minute mark...........

The whole argument that speculators aren't effecting prices is retarded.

Somebody who doesn't want the product wouldn't tie up their capital in something they weren't going to make money on.

Nymex September West Texas Intermediate sank $2.99 to a session low of $122.50 a barrel on Friday, down 5 per cent this week.

Something OTHER than supply and demand is going on!!!!

White-house announces it's allowing drilling and this is what happens. Now let the Dems just allow it to come to a house/senate vote and see what happens.

A strong energy policy that includes.

1. Conservation CREDITS.
2. Solar, wind, bio, incentives.
3. Raised CAFE standards.
4. SUV/and Large PU taxes/fees.
5. Hybrid credits.
6. Efficient Diesel credits.
7. Strong support for trains.
8. Support for Shale oil refining to at least start in 3-5 years.
9. New CLEAN coal plants.
10. 2 year approval process for nuclear plants.
11. Tax on IMPORTED oil.
12. Tax credit on home grown oil and ALL other home energy.

A non-pi$$ing match bi-partisan ENERGY plan with a 90 plus vote approval.

Want to see $60 oil in a month or two? That would do it BUT BUT BUT then with cheap $60 oil we wouldn't need the energy plan and we could go back to F-350's and silly energy burning toys.

Damned if ya do and damned of ya don't!

Passing all 1-12 with 90 senators has as much of a chance as Heather Locklear coming over for a date!
