Oh Pappy, don't get me going on that one! The BBHC (Google it) got a huge pile of our tax dollars already----like they need it, it's board consists of multi millionaires who fly in on their 20+ passenger private corporate jets. After Obama stepped in it by insulting the cop in the southeast last month, there was an article in our local paper that he shelled out from $190,000 to $200,000+ plus to each police dept in outlying small towns (some with 1500 pop.) all over the Bighorn Basin here in Wy, like Manchester, Greybull, Cody and on and on. Oh, and you taxpayers also bought Cody PD, population 9,000, a high dollar nifty new sorely needed bomb retrieving remote controlled robot. My first thought was if Obama threw away that kind of unasked for money here in this low population area, how much did he give out to the big city PDs?
Where's AK Gandy to set us straight on this one?? You there Rick?? I want to know the REAL truth, thanks.

I was actually in favor of the TARP funds............. initiated by President Bush.
I believed then, and believe now, that you guys would be whining even more right now (if that's possible ) had it not been done................ because our (and the world's) economy would have been in so much worse shape.
I was NOT, however, in favor of it being handed out without an accounting of who received it, how much they received and the repayment conditions.
But then again, since it was Bush who allowed it without any controls.......it is just one more example of his total ineptitude and simplistic mind at work.
It would have been better to put the system through bankruptcy and simply forego payment rather than taking money from taxpayers and leveraging it up through the treasury and keeping the bubble inflated.
Obama was elected to stop the bailout and to kill the parasites through re-regulation.
He never intended to do either of these things. That is why the population is going to turn more and more against him.

Sorry but, I personally didn't vote for him to necessarily stop the bailouts.
I voted for him to stop our economies collapse and to institute regulations to ensure that this would never happen again.
And I believe he will, eventually, be successful at both.
I have done extensive reading (and not just from the right-wing spin machine) on what was happening last fall in the financial sector. There are way too many people, whose opinion I respect, that says we were headed for a complete meltdown not seen since 1939.
If some of you don't want to believe that, it's your prerogative.

Me? I did believe it.
.
I do believe it and I still believe it is headed for collapse.
Look at his group of advisors and appointees. They are no different and a lot of the time worse than those in GW's administration.
You'll know how serious Obama is about stopping malpractice in the investment/regular banking sector when he starts letting the FDIC borrow from other banks.
Think about that.

Wow, what a cheap shot, not surprising at all. The Dems wrote the bill, Bush showed partisan support and signed YOUR bill, and since it didn't work (JUST AS WARNED IT WOULD NOT) you blame it on him. That's mighty convenient isn't it lol.
Whining? More insults from you, go figure... So what do you call it when the left screams racist every time somebody disagrees with them? You want to see whining? Just wait till acorn gets drug to court for being kiddie pimps, and human trafficking. You ain't seen whining yet, the whining coming from acorn will be legendary all the way to prison.

That I do not agree with.

You are correct I don't believe you. But, I would be willing to read some facts if you can post up a few if it actually has any merit to it. Can you quote anybody other than Barney Frank?

Are you really so blindly partisan as to say that Bush didn't agree that something drastic was needed, as his own advisor's were telling him?
As far as it not working............prove it. You can't because, you can't prove how much worse it could have been without it.

I call it 'hyperbole and exaggeration' (which is just a polite way of saying your statement is a lie). Not even those of us who believe that racism is prevalent, is saying that every voice against Obama is coming from a racist viewpoint. Some are just the normal vitriolic screeching against anyone to the left of Limbaugh. Which, by the way, is most Americans.

Boy, you're blind hatred is once again clouding any common sense that might actually be lurking somewhere deep inside. Because as far as I'm concerned, I hope ACORN is purged of every single person who has broken the law. Gee, I hope I haven't upset your preconceived stereotyping too much. lol!

There's not a single link I could post that you would believe.
Sooo....I have a better idea. Do your own search and find all of the respected financial voices (and none of the mare Frank) that advocated the TARP funds.
I'll give you a single name to help you start your search....
While saying that he sympathizes with any member of Congress who votes "no," Gingrich says in his statement that the crisis of the credit markets is real and could have "horrendous" consequences.
Go ahead and find more...........I know you can do it.
